Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate earns the “Ninja Turtles Hades” comparison through its roguelike runs: rooms, power-ups and boss modifiers vary, while players build around the abilities of the four Turtles. It is not an Apple Arcade exclusive today: it is also listed for Nintendo Switch and Windows PC. The resemblance is a useful description of its run-based format, not evidence that Hades inspired it or that the games play alike in every respect.
Why people compare Splintered Fate to Hades
The comparison is about structure. In Splintered Fate, players fight through changing rooms, collect randomized power-ups and face bosses with modifiers. Those ingredients create runs that can differ from one attempt to the next, while power combinations let players shape a build around a Turtle’s abilities. Apple describes it as a roguelike action game, and Nintendo and Steam also describe randomized elements and character powers. Apple’s game listing and Nintendo’s listing support that comparison.
That does not establish a direct influence from Hades, nor does it prove the combat, writing or progression are equivalent. Those are separate questions of feel and quality; the official store descriptions establish the roguelike features, not a hands-on verdict.
What you do in the game
Rescue Splinter across changing runs
The story begins after Shredder kidnaps Splinter, with mysterious portals appearing across New York City. The Turtles set out to rescue him while battling through locations and enemies drawn from the TMNT world. Nintendo’s description identifies the Foot Clan as the captors and frames the adventure around saving Splinter.

Choose a Turtle and build around its powers
All four Turtles are playable. Their distinct powers and the combinations found during runs give players options for building toward different approaches. The game’s listings establish those character and build elements, but do not quantify how balanced or varied each build is.
Can you play solo or in co-op?
Both. Super Evil Megacorp’s developer team has said solo play works offline, and the official store listings also describe multiplayer. Apple and Nintendo advertise co-op for up to four players; Nintendo specifies one-to-four-player local and online play. Steam lists single-player, online co-op, shared/split-screen co-op and cross-platform multiplayer.

That makes co-op one of the clearest distinctions from a solo-first roguelike pitch: you can play alone, or bring friends into the run. The developer AMA also said there were no plans for bots at that time, but that was a dated answer, not a guarantee about the game’s current state. Has the game received updates?
Yes. Apple’s version history records version 2.0 as adding a continuation of the story, playable character Slash and Samurai Armor; version 2.0.3 is listed with bug fixes. Nintendo’s page also lists DLC characters including Casey Jones, Metalhead, Alopex and Slash. Store histories and DLC catalogs can change, so check the live platform page for current versions and content rather than relying on an old version date or price. Apple’s version history and Nintendo’s listing show those details.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is it worth trying if you want a co-op Hades-like?
If the appeal is a TMNT action game built around repeatable roguelike runs, randomized upgrades and the option to play with friends, Splintered Fate matches that description. If you mean that it has been proven to share Hades’ combat quality, narrative style or progression, the available official descriptions cannot establish that. Treat “Ninja Turtles Hades” as a shorthand for the run-based format, then use the platform listing for the version and access model that suit you.
