To get the Talisman of Kazdor in WoW Classic: Season of Discovery, complete the level 50 Rogue quest The Talisman of Kazdor (available at level 45), then loot the Spellbound War Chest at the top of Zul’Farrak’s pyramid. The chest requires an Emblem of Blood Magic to open, and the quest says you must complete the job alone. Take the talisman to Fahrad at Ravenholdt Manor.
Who can start The Talisman of Kazdor?
This is a Rogue quest. Warcraft Wiki lists it as level 50, with level 45 required. The quest begins and ends with Fahrad at Ravenholdt Manor, and its objective is to find the talisman in Zul’Farrak and bring it back to him. The quest text explicitly says, “You must complete the job alone.” (Warcraft Wiki quest record.)
How do you open the Spellbound War Chest in Zul’Farrak?
- Go to Zul’Farrak. The Spellbound War Chest containing the talisman is described as being at the top of the pyramid. (Warcraft Wiki quest record; Icy Veins Rogue guide.)
- Bring an Emblem of Blood Magic. The quest record identifies this emblem as the key to opening the chest. (Warcraft Wiki item record.)
- Open the chest and loot the Talisman of Kazdor. The item record places it inside the Spellbound War Chest. The item is unique and bind-on-pickup, so it cannot be traded to another character after you loot it. (Warcraft Wiki item record.)
- Return to Fahrad at Ravenholdt Manor. Turn in the quest to complete this step of the Rogue chain.
What about making the Emblem of Blood Magic?
Player comments on Wowhead describe combining offerings and using a Hollow Emblem to create the key. These are community-submitted directions rather than steps confirmed in the quest record, so treat them as tips, not authoritative requirements. Does the quest require a solo run?
The quest text says to complete the job alone. That is the clearest available instruction for this step; current behavior across every realm and client version has not been established. Plan to do the required job solo rather than assume a group will satisfy the objective.

What happens after you return the talisman?
The item continues into Best Laid Plans. That follow-up sends you to Zan Shivsprocket in the basement of Ravenholdt Manor. Its quest text says Zan will rig the artifact to detect attempts to channel magic energy into or out of it. (Warcraft Wiki quest record.)
