Restart the linking flow only if the error interrupted CAPCOM ID or platform-account linking; for other failures, check current Capcom notices or support rather than assuming a local network fault.
What Error 50301 means—and what it does not confirm
Esports.gg characterized Error 50301 as a server-side issue on Capcom’s end and advised players to wait. That is secondary reporting from around 2023, not an official Capcom definition of the code. It does not establish whether an outage is happening now. Read the code-specific report.
A Capcom Customer Service thread includes a player report of “A Communication Error has occurred” with code 50301-30001. That confirms players have reported the code, but the report does not establish its cause. See the Capcom Customer Service thread.
The sources available here do not verify live server status. Treat an outage as unconfirmed unless current official notices say otherwise; consult Street Fighter 6’s official site or Capcom support for current information.

Start with the feature that failed
Account linking, matchmaking, and an online match are separate flows. Identify where the error appeared before trying a fix: the right next step depends on whether you were linking accounts or trying to play online.
If the error interrupted account linking
Capcom’s CAPCOM ID guide says that if an unexpected error interrupts platform-account linking, restart the linking procedure from the beginning. This is guidance for the linking flow, not a general fix for Error 50301 in other parts of the game. Capcom also warns that limits may apply to linking again, so check the account selection carefully before restarting. Read Capcom’s account-linking guide.

If it appeared during matchmaking or an online match
The Street Fighter 6 manual explains how to start ranked and casual matchmaking through Battle Settings, but does not give a 50301-specific remedy. Consult the manual’s Battle Settings section. For a code that appears elsewhere, check current official notices or contact Capcom support rather than treating account-linking instructions as a fix.

No source here establishes that changing a router, buying an Ethernet cable, or adding a network adapter fixes Error 50301. The code-specific report points to a possible server-side issue, so equipment purchases are not a substantiated remedy.
