It pairs each with a combat role, range, and armor category. Treat that as the roster presented by the gallery—not a guaranteed current list for every version or region of TERA.
Elin class and armor comparison
The table summarizes the eight entries in the GamesBeat gallery, published April 30, 2012 and marked updated June 18, 2025. “Leather,” “metal,” and “cloth” are the gallery’s armor labels; they are not current gear-set recommendations.

| Warrior | Evasion tank or sustained DPS | Melee | Leather |
| Lancer | Absorption tank | Melee | Metal |
| Slayer | Burst DPS | Melee | Leather |

Start with the job you want to do in a group, then use range and armor as context. The gallery’s labels distinguish tanks, damage dealers, and healers/support, but it does not provide a current build comparison or rank gear sets.

Why class lists and gear labels vary by version
The eight-class list belongs to the GamesBeat gallery’s scope. A separate console guide describes Ninja as “Elin Only” and says it uses robes; it describes Valkyrie as “Castanic Females Only” and says it uses light armor. Those are console-specific details, not additions that should be silently folded into the gallery’s eight entries. The available sources do not establish one complete current Elin roster covering every live, regional, and console version.
Likewise, the gallery’s leather, metal, and cloth categories should not be read as a current equipment guide. Armor availability and terminology depend on the game version being discussed.
Later gear work is not an official live-game gear list
TERA Reforged, an unaffiliated project, described work in progress on equipment for classes added after classic level-60 gear sets in a February 8, 2026 development log. It reported 13 Reaper weapons, 2 crafted Brawler weapons, 12 chest armor pieces, and 19 crafting recipes. The same log counted 1,080+ restored legacy tooltips—207 crafting materials and 873 design recipes—and warned that values and mechanics may change during development. These figures describe that project’s work, not a definitive official live-game inventory.
Appearance and costume tools are separate from class gear
The community Elin Magic README describes client-side commands for appearance and costumes, including equipping an item by ID, dyeing, and changing titles. It notes that items cannot be equipped in the wrong slot, that some items for other classes may be usable within race restrictions, and that the interface is in beta with known display issues. These are community-mod features, not official game functions or physical equipment.
