Terraria 1.4.5: Bigger & Boulder is no longer almost here: Re-Logic released it worldwide on January 27, 2026. The teaser that set the date was a January 24 trailer. Since launch, the studio has continued issuing fixes and updates, with platform rollout timing varying for later versions.

What the Bigger & Boulder teaser announced

Re-Logic’s official trailer, published January 24, 2026, announced that Terraria 1.4.5 would launch on January 27. Its description called the update “Bigger and Boulder than ever before!” That was pre-launch promotion; the update has since arrived.

Re-Logic later confirmed that 1.4.5 released across platforms. It is an update to Terraria, not a separately purchased expansion.

What happened after launch

The release was followed by continued development rather than an end to work on 1.4.5. In its February 2026 State of the Game, Re-Logic said five hotfix rounds had been issued by that point and that more fixes were planned. The studio listed bugs, balance, additional items, and quality-of-life changes among its follow-up areas.

#1 Best Overall
Two Point Hospital - Nintendo Switch
  • Build up a hospital from nothing to a masterpiece as you design the most beautiful – or functional – healthcare operation in the whole of Two Point County.
  • Optimise your hospital design to increase patient (and cash) flow, arranging corridors, rooms and waiting areas to your exact specifications.
  • Expand your hospital to multiple buildings as you look to get as many patients through the door as possible.
  • Place decorative and functional items around your hospital to improve its prestige, lower patient boredom, increase happiness and keep those end of year awards flowing in.
  • Features two great expansions, 21 hospitals and 119 very unusual illnesses!

In the same post, Re-Logic reported an almost 230,000 concurrent-player peak after launch, describing it as nearly twice the Labor of Love spike. This is the studio’s reported figure, not an independent measurement.

Widescreen was not guaranteed

Re-Logic said it was exploring widescreen support, but emphasized that the feature was experimental and not promised. Treat it as a possibility discussed in February—not a confirmed addition.

Platform and version status

Platform timing can differ for later builds. In its August 2026 State of the Game, Re-Logic said version 1.4.5.7 was available on PC, while console and mobile builds were in submission. That is an August status snapshot, not confirmation of availability on every platform today. Check the relevant platform’s Terraria store listing for the current version.

The same August post described 1.4.6 as Phase One of crossplay, planned after the 1.4.5.7 rollout. It was a plan, not a claim that crossplay was already live.
