How to read these 2023 awards
The picks come from different award programs and categories, so they should not be combined into a single score. Apple’s App Store Awards recognize games in platform-specific categories; Apple said its 2023 winners were selected from nearly 40 finalists and that it recognized 14 apps and games across categories. Google Play’s U.S. announcement separates the editors’ Best Game choice from Users’ Choice. Pocket Gamer’s prize is a consumer-voted award with its own eligibility window.
