Could Game Pass members buy the games before they left?
In its 2025 announcement, Xbox said members could use their membership discount to purchase departing titles and keep them in their libraries. The notice described savings of up to 20%; that was a historical offer statement, not a guaranteed discount on every game or a current offer. The announcement does not establish present-day prices, editions, regional availability, or whether a title can still be purchased.

Are these games in Game Pass now?
The January 2025 departure notice confirms what was scheduled to leave then, not the current catalog in October 2026. It also does not establish current storefront availability. Check the live Game Pass catalog and the relevant store listing for the game, platform, edition, and region before deciding whether you can play or buy it now.
Removing a game from the subscription library means a Game Pass membership alone no longer provides access through that listing. Do not assume that renewing a subscription or switching to another subscription tier restores a removed game; check the current catalog for its status.
