Get the most from her by lining up Orb Projection’s outgoing and return paths, saving control abilities for consequential moments, and placing protection where teammates are under pressure.
What Invisible Woman does
Sue Storm’s kit rewards useful positioning more than constant aggression. She can heal and damage with the same projectile, shield a teammate or herself, displace enemies, and create a concealed healing area with her ultimate. Her stealth is also a way to reset and reposition, not a guarantee that she can escape any pursuit.
The official Invisible Woman character page lists her abilities and their mechanics. Values and availability can change with balance updates, so check the live in-game descriptions if a number here differs from your current client.
How to use each ability
Orb Projection: line up both paths
Orb Projection passes through heroes. On its outgoing path it damages enemies and heals allies; on its return path it can damage and heal again. The character page lists a maximum flight distance of 35 m. The July and September 2026 updates list healing of 50 on the outgoing hit and 40 on the return.

When positions allow, aim through an ally and an enemy so one cast contributes to both healing and damage. Remember that the orb returns: consider where you will be and where allies may move before firing, rather than treating it as a one-way shot.
Guardian Shield: protect the teammate under pressure
Guardian Shield can be placed in front of yourself or a selected ally. It protects against damage, heals nearby allies, and slows enemies that cross it. You can reproject it to an ally before it is destroyed, or recall it after it takes damage to restore its value.
A March 2026 balance update reduced the shield’s healing from 25 to 15 per second. Use it chiefly to cover the player facing immediate pressure; its healing is supplementary, not a reason to leave a threatened teammate exposed.

Force Physics: displace threats at the right moment
Force Physics pushes or pulls enemies in front of Sue. Use it when an enemy’s position threatens your team or when moving them can interrupt pressure. Because it acts in front of her, positioning and timing matter: face the threat and use the ability when displacement can change the immediate situation.
Psionic Vortex: disrupt an approach
Psionic Vortex deals damage, slows enemies, and draws them toward its center. It can disrupt enemies approaching your team or punish opponents grouped near an objective. Look for a moment when the pull and slow will make it harder for opponents to advance or hold their position.
Veiled Step and Covert Advance: disengage, then recover
Veiled Step puts Invisible Woman into stealth and has a six-second cooldown on the character page. A September 8, 2026 update makes damage during the first second of stealth no longer break it. As the official patch note puts it, “Sue is securing her camouflage; stray shots won’t break her cover right out of the gate.”

- Made of a lightweight, spun polyester canvas-like fabric.
- All seams and stress points are double-stitched for durability, and the reinforced bottom flattens to fit more items and hold larger objects.
Use stealth to change position or disengage, but do not assume it makes you impossible to track: opponents may predict your route. Covert Advance restores health over time after Sue leaves combat. In March 2026, its recovery increased from 20 to 30 per second. The same update described the trade-off as “Less healing in the fray, better reset out of it.”
Invisible Boundary: coordinate the area with your team
Invisible Boundary conceals allies in its area, heals over time, and slows enemies. Coordinate its placement with teammates so they can benefit from the area rather than scattering away from it. The July 2026 update lists healing at 200 per second, while the September 2026 update separately refers to a 130-per-second healing pool. The official wording does not establish whether those figures describe separate components or a changed value; check the live tooltip rather than relying on one definitive number.
How to make better decisions during a fight
- For immediate protection: place Guardian Shield over the ally taking pressure, and reposition or recall it when needed.
- For enemy disruption: use Psionic Vortex to slow and pull opponents, or Force Physics to push or pull a threat in front of you.
- For sustained contribution: keep a clear Orb Projection line through allies and enemies where possible, and account for its return path.
- When your position becomes unsafe: use Veiled Step to reposition, then let Covert Advance support recovery after leaving combat.
These are situational choices, not a fixed ability rotation. Choose the tool that addresses the current problem—keeping an ally alive, disrupting an approach, or creating room to reset.

Keep older team-up and ultimate advice current
The July 2026 update retired the Fantastic Four Team-Up, so guides that recommend selecting it describe an option that is no longer available. That update says selecting Invisible Woman as a Team-Up partner gives Doctor Strange’s Shield of the Seraphim an additional 150 shield value.
A March 2026 global update changed Strategist damage and healing conversion to ultimate energy from 90% to 75%, and passive energy regeneration from 12 per second to 8 per second. Older advice about how frequently the ultimate becomes available may therefore be out of date; coordinate its use with your team instead of assuming a particular charge pace.
