Thomas is coming to Thomas & Friends: Wonders of Sodor, a standalone game developed by Dovetail Games with Mattel—not a mod. It is separate from the Thomas & Friends add-on for Train Sim World 5.
What game is Thomas coming to?
Thomas & Friends: Wonders of Sodor is the new standalone Thomas game announced by Dovetail Games with Mattel. Dovetail’s announcement presents it as its own title, rather than a fan-made modification or content pack for another game.
The game lets players take control of Thomas, Percy, Gordon, Emily, and Diesel while exploring landmarks on the Island of Sodor. Dovetail’s official FAQ describes eight stories, plus Timetable Mode, Explore Mode, and a Shunting Challenge.
How is it different from the Train Sim World add-on?
Thomas also appeared in an official Train Sim World 5 add-on, announced for March 20 in Dovetail’s forum announcement. That add-on and Wonders of Sodor are separate releases: the former brings Thomas & Friends content to Train Sim World 5, while the latter is a standalone game.

Which platforms and editions are available?
Dovetail’s launch announcement lists PlayStation, Steam, Xbox, and the Epic Games Store. It also says a physical edition is coming, but does not give a release date or confirm current retailer availability.
The launch post identifies James as playable in the Deluxe Edition. The earlier game announcement names Thomas, Percy, Gordon, Emily, and Diesel; it does not establish that James is included in the base game.
