In The Sims: Legacy Edition for PC, hold Ctrl+Shift+C to open the cheat window, enter a command, and press Enter. The official guide lists rosebud to add 1,000 Simoleons to household funds.
How to enter cheats in The Sims: Legacy Edition
- While playing, hold Ctrl+Shift+C to toggle the cheat window.
- Type a command from the list below.
- Press Enter to submit it.

Money and gameplay commands

Does klapaucius work in The Sims 1?
klapaucius is associated with older base-game installations. A 2008 guide from The Sims Resource says rosebud replaces it when the Sims Updater or Livin’ Large is installed, and notes that some commands may not work with every expansion pack. That is historical guidance, not a guarantee for every original disc build. See The Sims Resource’s 2008 cheat reference for that context.

For the modern PC Legacy Edition, use EA’s current listing: it documents rosebud as the money command. This distinction matters because old cheat lists can describe different game revisions or expansion configurations.

If a cheat window or command does not work
- Check that the game has focus, then try holding Ctrl+Shift+C again; EA describes this shortcut as toggling the cheat window.
- Enter the command as shown, including underscores and any on/off setting or numeric parameter.
- Do not assume a game launch or display issue means a cheat is incompatible. EA’s February 4, 2025 Legacy patch notes discuss technical issues and graphics-driver checks, but do not identify a particular cheat as broken.
