How Connections works

Connections gives players 16 words to sort into four groups of four that share a theme. Each group is marked by a color: yellow is the easiest and purple the trickiest. The New York Times says each puzzle has exactly one solution, while words that could fit multiple categories make the challenge harder. The game is free to play on the platforms listed by the Times, and a new daily puzzle releases at midnight in the player’s timezone. The archive, which reaches back to June 12, 2023, is available to All Access and Games subscribers.
