Spoilers: the category answers and word groups
The four categories and their words are below.
Yellow — STRICT
FIRM · RIGID · STERN · TOUGH
Green — BOTANICAL COVERINGS
HULL · HUSK · POD · SHELL
Blue — SEEN IN OPENING CREDITS
CAST · DIRECTOR · STUDIO · TITLE
Purple — OBJECTS IN 0-, 1-, 2- AND 3-DIMENSIONAL SPACE
LINE · PLANE · POINT · SOLID
A couple of misleading overlaps
SOLID can look like it belongs with the words meaning strict, while STERN and HULL may suggest a boat-related set. In the intended solution, SOLID belongs with the geometric terms, and the botanical-coverings group includes HULL.
How to read the date
This is puzzle #744, dated June 24, 2025—not a puzzle from another year with the same month and day. TechRadar published its guide on June 23, noting that the daily puzzle appears at midnight in each time zone; a guide may therefore be dated the day before the puzzle date. TechRadar’s June 24 guide and Try Hard Guides’ June 24 answers agree on the puzzle number, categories, and word assignments.

How Connections works
Try Hard Guides describes the game as selecting four words and submitting them, with up to four mistakes allowed. Each puzzle has four groups, ordered from easiest to trickiest, and resets at midnight local time. These are that guide’s descriptions of play, not a substitute for the New York Times’ current official rules. Try Hard Guides’ puzzle guide
