There is no verified official MWIII collection called “Chilling,” and the six skins sometimes listed under that name—Frostbite, Icebound, Glacier, Snowstorm, Frozen Veil, and Arctic Phantom—are not corroborated by Activision’s operator guide. That means there is no reliable item-by-item unlock list to give. To check a specific operator or skin, use the in-game Operator Challenge and customization menus, and treat older seasonal announcements as evidence of past content—not proof that it is available now.
Is “Chilling” an official MWIII operator-skin collection?
Activision’s Modern Warfare III: Operators guide does not identify a “Chilling” collection. The six names sometimes presented as its complete roster—Frostbite, Icebound, Glacier, Snowstorm, Frozen Veil, and Arctic Phantom—are not verified by that guide, nor does it establish unlock requirements for them. Do not rely on those names or generic unlock instructions as confirmed MWIII content unless the items appear in the game or in an official Activision source.

MWIII launched with 24 new Operators: 12 SpecGru and 12 KorTac, according to Activision. That is the launch roster count, not a count of every Operator or skin added later. The guide describes general ways to unlock Operators, but it does not provide a complete, current inventory of themed skins or Store offers.
How to check an Operator’s unlock requirement
- Open MWIII and go to the in-game Challenges menu.
- Select the Operator Challenge tile.
- Choose the locked Operator you are interested in and read the requirement shown for that Operator.
Requirements are operator-specific, so the in-game listing is the practical place to verify what you need to do. Activision says some Operators are available immediately; locked Operators may be unlocked through in-game challenges or purchased in the Store. That general guidance does not mean a particular skin or bundle is currently for sale.

Operator unlocks and skins are different
An Operator is the character; a skin is an appearance for that Operator. Unlocking a particular skin does not necessarily unlock the Operator’s base or default skin. Activision’s Carry Forward FAQ specifically notes that a bundle may provide a particular Operator skin without granting the base/default skin. Check the item description and the Operator’s unlock status rather than assuming one unlock includes the other.

Activision says unlocked MWII Operators and skins carry into MWIII, but missed timed-exclusive MWII Battle Pass and BlackCell rewards do not become available later by default. A later bundle may offer a specific alternate skin; that possibility is not confirmation that a particular item is available now, or that it includes the Operator’s default appearance. Check the in-game Store and Operator screens for current availability.

- New point streak system that rewards players both for landing kills and completing objectives
- Weapons proficiency system that allows you to customize your favorite weapons, making them more effiecent in any map or mode
- Online/offline 2 player co op special ops survival mode that earns you experience through 16 frantic objective based missions
- New play modes, including: Kill confirmed mode, team defender mode and user generated match modes
- Integration with 'call of duty: Elite,' an online multiplayer oriented service launched simultaneously with call of duty: Modern warfare 3
Seasonal announcements also need to be read in context. For example, Activision’s 2023 Haunting announcement documents content announced for that MWII and Warzone season. It does not establish a complete MWIII Halloween-skin list or show that those rewards can still be unlocked.

A reliable way to verify a skin before chasing it
- Confirm the name in-game or in an official Activision announcement. A themed list on an unofficial page is not enough to establish that an item exists under that name.
- Identify what the reward unlocks. Check whether it is an Operator, an alternate skin, or both.
- Read the route and timing. The game may show a challenge, a Store listing, or a time-limited pass or event reward; these routes are not interchangeable.
- Check current availability in MWIII. A historical announcement confirms a past release, not a present unlock opportunity.
- For MWII items, check Carry Forward details. Previously unlocked content may carry into MWIII, while missed timed-exclusive rewards do not automatically reopen.
