The best general-purpose build for The Herta pairs Into the Unreachable Veil with four pieces of Scholar Lost in Erudition, then builds around CRIT and a deliberate Speed plan. For teams, bring a second Erudition character to help her mechanics, plus a support and a sustain; the exact choices depend on your roster, enemy count, and Skill Point economy.
The Herta is a 5-star Ice character on the Erudition path. HoYoverse describes her as a multi-target damage dealer whose enhanced Skill is central to her damage: while she is on the field, allies’ attacks apply marks to enemies, and more mark stacks increase her damage. That makes team composition part of her build, not an afterthought. HoYoverse’s Version 3.0 announcement explains this role.
Best Light Cones for The Herta
Prydwen’s The Herta guide, last updated 31 May 2026, recommends Into the Unreachable Veil as her best Light Cone. Its Skill Point benefit is particularly useful in teams where The Herta and her partner both want to use Skills often.
Today Is Another Peaceful Day is a strong alternative in the same guide’s ranking. Choose according to what you have available and how your team handles Skill Points; the ranking is a guide recommendation, not a promise of identical results across accounts or encounters.

Best relics and stats
Relic set and main stats
The standard set recommendation is Scholar Lost in Erudition (4-piece), which the guide favors for CRIT Rate and bonuses to her key abilities. Its recommended main stats are:
- Body: CRIT Rate
- Feet: Speed or ATK%, depending on your Speed plan
- Planar sphere: Ice DMG or ATK%
- Link rope: ATK% or Energy Regeneration Rate
Substats and Speed targets
The guide’s substat order starts with Speed to a chosen breakpoint, followed by CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG, and ATK%. Its endgame targets include 90–100% CRIT Rate and 100–120% or higher CRIT DMG. It discusses 134 and 160 Speed breakpoints, as well as base-Speed setups for particular teams.

These are targets to assess, not mandatory thresholds for every account. A teammate such as Jade can affect effective Speed, while relic rolls and encounter needs change what is practical. Pick a Speed plan first; then decide whether Speed or ATK% feet best serve it, rather than treating every listed breakpoint as a universal requirement.

A second Erudition teammate is the key team-building choice because allies’ attacks help apply marks. After that, select a support or buffer and a sustain based on your roster and the content you are tackling.

Second Erudition teammate
- Anaxa or Jade: Named as strong partners in the current guide.
- Herta (4-star): A useful option in Pure Fiction or encounters with recurring weaker enemies.
- Serval or Argenti: Alternatives that can contribute frequent attacks and help with marks or Energy generation.
There is no single required partner: the best fit changes with your available characters and game mode. The older HoYoLAB creator guide published in January 2025 provides historical context, but its recommendations predate the later Prydwen guide and should not be treated as the current ranking.
Support and sustain
The current guide discusses Robin, Sunday, and Remembrance Trailblazer as support options. For sustain, it names frequent-attacking characters such as Lingsha and Aventurine. Match the support to the partner and team economy you can actually sustain, rather than assuming every listed character belongs in one fixed lineup.

Skill Points and encounter fit
Skill Point management matters when both Erudition characters use Skills frequently, or when the support also has heavy Skill demands. The Herta can also ramp more slowly when there are few enemies, so her multi-target strengths are more relevant when the encounter supplies targets for her team to attack. The build guide’s equipment calculations assume three targets; its relative equipment comparisons therefore should not be read as universal performance claims for single-target fights.

Reliable Ultimate availability is an important part of her practical damage, so consider Energy Regeneration Rate on the rope if it better supports your rotation than ATK%.
