Fisch has two different objectives players may call “Merlin’s shards.” Four colored Rift portals on Sunstone Island lead to the Shards of Nebulas, Roots, Tides, and Ember. The Shard of Time is a separate item in The Chasm, reached through a three-item puzzle. This guide covers both so you can find the right objective without mistaking one for the other.
Where to find the four Rift shards
The Rift shards are associated with colored portals that appear on Sunstone Island. A Pro Game Guides walkthrough dated November 17, 2025 reports that a server-wide message announces a Rift spawn; it does not provide fixed coordinates or a verified spawn schedule. Treat the locations below as a search route, not guaranteed spawn points.

Search Sunstone Island after the spawn message
- Travel to Sunstone Island and locate Merlin’s hut at the top of the island ladder.
- Wait for the server-wide notification that a Rift has spawned on Sunstone Island.
- Check in front of Merlin’s house and near the top of the ladder first, then search the rest of the island. The walkthrough describes variable locations rather than fixed coordinates.
- Identify the portal by its color and enter it to start the corresponding course.
Pro Game Guides’ Rift walkthrough reports that each Rift has a timed parkour course and that players are ejected if they fail. Its recommended aid is an Advanced Glider or basic glider for crossing obstacles. These are the walkthrough’s reported mechanics; live behavior may change with game updates.
How to get the Shard of Time in The Chasm
The Shard of Time is not one of the four colored Rift shards. The Fisch Wiki’s Shard of Time entry describes it as an item found in The Chasm after completing a three-item pedestal puzzle. Merlin’s hut is on Sunstone Island, and his current wiki entry says players must be level 30 or above to make deals with him. Merlin offers a buff for entering The Chasm, according to the Merlin entry.

Collect the three pedestal items
- Radiant Crystal: Catch it in the Mineshaft’s water pools.
- Cut Gem: Pull the lever when the minecart is close to the rope so it derails, then collect the item.
- Rough Geode: Use a spear to break rubble in the Mineshaft.
Place all three items on the pedestals to open the locked door and reach the Shard of Time. The Shard of Time wiki page lists the shard as an ingredient for crafting Merlin’s Staff alongside an Anomalous Log and Iron Chunk. It lists the cost as C$800,000, while Merlin’s dialogue page lists C$1,000,000; the sources conflict, so check the in-game crafting requirement rather than relying on either price.

The November 17, 2025 walkthrough gives search priorities but no exact Rift coordinates or spawn interval. It also has an inconsistent reward list: it assigns rewards to Nebulas twice and omits Ember. Because that mapping is incomplete, do not use it as a reliable four-shard reward chart; check the current game for rewards.
