Reach Abyssal Zenith first
Abyssal Zenith is the third layer of Mariana’s Veil. Beebom’s walkthrough, updated February 23, 2025, says you must complete Volcanic Vents and Challenger’s Deep, upgrade the submarine, and traverse the maze to get there. The journey takes time, so the guide recommends bringing plenty of bait and setting your innkeeper location after arrival. Beebom’s Abyssal Zenith walkthrough
No location-specific rod requirement is established in the guides. Beebom recommends a rod with strong resilience for Mythical and Secret catches, suggesting Poseidon Rod and Quality or Resilient enchantments as options. Those are recommendations, not prerequisites.
Use the bestiary table to plan your catches
The roster and preferred conditions below are reported by Beebom and the Fisch Wiki. The sources do not establish that these conditions are guaranteed requirements, and game details can change; check the in-game Bestiary if a listed preference does not match your current version. Catch the Crowned Anglerfish for onward access
The Crowned Anglerfish is the key exception to the nine-of-ten goal. The Fisch Wiki lists it as an Exotic/Secret catch found only in Abyssal Zenith, with Truffle Worm bait and Autumn, Foggy, Night conditions. It says the fish is needed to unlock Calm Zone and Veil of the Forsaken. The guides do not provide a reliable catch probability, expected number of casts, or guaranteed method. Use the listed conditions as a plan, but do not assume a particular wait time or catch rate.

Keep the separate quest requirements straight
Completing the Bestiary and satisfying the quest to travel farther through Mariana’s Veil are separate goals. The quest page lists these four requirements:
- Abyssal Bearded Seadevil
- Voidglow Ghostfish
- Angler’s Lantern
- Glimmerfin Suit Tier 2
According to the Fisch Wiki, an Angler’s Lantern can be acquired by feeding an Orca, Kraken, or Ancient Orca to an Angler. The page recommends having three fish available to feed the three Anglers. Completing the requirements yields Glimmerfin Suit Tier 3 and the Submarine Deep Upgrade. Choose your goal before you leave
- Bestiary completion only: Catch any nine of the ten listed fish, following the bait and environmental preferences in the table.
- Bestiary plus later-area access: Include the Crowned Anglerfish, even if you already have nine entries.
- Deeper Mariana’s Veil progression: Work on the separate quest’s two fish, Angler’s Lantern, and Glimmerfin Suit Tier 2; the reported rewards are the Tier 3 suit and Submarine Deep Upgrade.
These requirements and catch preferences are based on gaming guides rather than an official developer reference.
