Fortnite items and cosmetics also cannot be transferred between accounts. If your problem is a console or mobile profile linked to the wrong Epic account, that is a different issue: you may be able to relink the platform, subject to Epic’s current restrictions.
What happens to items and purchases on separate accounts?
They stay on the Epic account where they were purchased, earned, or claimed. Epic says that V-Bucks, Epic Games Store purchases, in-game items and cosmetics, and friends lists cannot be transferred between Epic accounts. Its Fortnite Support page states that it is not possible to manually transfer a Fortnite item or cosmetic to another Epic account. Epic’s account-merging guidance and Fortnite item-transfer guidance explain these limits.

Is linking a console account the same as merging?
No. Linking connects a platform profile—such as Xbox, PlayStation, PC, Switch, or Mobile—to an Epic account. It does not combine two Epic accounts or move their assets. Epic says eligible Fortnite progress and content can be accessed across platforms when the platform profiles are linked to the same Epic account. Epic’s cross-platform progress guidance describes this distinction.
Epic says items are shared among platforms linked to the same Epic account, but V-Bucks have an exception: V-Bucks purchased on other platforms are not shared with Nintendo Switch, and V-Bucks purchased on Nintendo Switch are not shared with other platforms. See Epic’s explanation of content shared between platforms.

Which account problem do you have?
| Situation | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Two separate Epic accounts, and you want to combine their items or progress | Epic does not offer account merging or transfers of account-bound assets. | Keep using the account that holds the items or progress you want. Epic Support cannot merge the accounts. |
| A console or mobile profile is linked to the wrong Epic account | This is a platform-linking problem, not an account merge. | Review Epic’s account-linking instructions and current relinking constraints before changing the connection. |
| A recent Item Shop purchase is on the wrong account | A return and repurchase may be possible, but only under specific conditions. | Check whether the item is still in the Item Shop and whether the purchasing account has a Cancel Purchase option or Return Ticket. |
What can you do if a platform is linked to the wrong account?
- Identify the Epic account currently connected to the platform. Make sure you know which Epic account holds the Fortnite progress or items you want to access.
- Check Epic’s current linking and relinking rules. Use Epic’s official account-linking instructions before removing or changing a connection; relinking may be limited by current account restrictions.
- Confirm the platform is connected to the Epic account you intend to use. Linking the platform to that account can make eligible content and progress accessible there, but it will not merge or move assets from a different Epic account.
Can a recent purchase be moved by returning it?
Not directly. Epic’s limited option is to return an eligible recent Item Shop purchase and repurchase it on the correct account. That may work only if the item is still available in the Item Shop and the account has a Cancel Purchase option or Return Ticket. Check Epic’s current return rules before relying on this option; it does not provide a way to transfer the purchase itself.

No unofficial service can make Epic’s account merge or asset transfer available under its stated policy. Avoid giving another person or service access to your Epic or platform account in exchange for a promised transfer.
