The four themes, in the puzzle’s stated order of difficulty, are:
- Words that sound alike.
- Four kinds of neckline.
- Different ways to write the number 1,000.
- Words that complete “Super ___.”
The board’s 16 tiles are Boat, U, Bowl, M, Thou, Crew, V, You, 8, Ewe, Scoop, Glue, Tuesday, K, Grand, and Yew. The hints reveal the category ideas without yet sorting the tiles.

How the Connections puzzle works
Connections asks players to sort 16 words into four groups of four based on a shared connection. The categories are color-coded by difficulty, and players can make up to four mistakes before the answers are revealed.
