God of War Ragnarök can deliver strong PC performance, but there is no single frame-rate result that applies to every system. Sony’s published requirements set native-resolution targets from 1080p Low to 4K Ultra; independent reviewers have reported results that vary with GPU, settings, rendering mode, and in-game location. The figures below are tied to the systems and conditions that produced them.
What performance should you expect on PC?
Independent tests show that high-end graphics cards can run the game at high frame rates, including at 4K, but those results are not guarantees for other PCs. In TechSpot’s demanding test scene, an RTX 4070 Ti Super reached the 60 fps mark at native 4K Ultra; an RTX 4090 did not reach 100 fps at that setting. At 4K High, TechSpot measured 60 fps on an RTX 4070 Super and 110 fps on an RTX 4090. Its test system used a Ryzen 7 7800X3D, 32 GB DDR5-6000, Windows 11, a PCIe 4 NVMe SSD, and September 2024 graphics drivers. TechSpot describes the game as predominantly GPU-limited with a Zen 3-or-newer CPU, but its results still apply to its chosen hardware and scene. TechSpot’s benchmark and methodology.
A separate Beebom test, updated October 15, 2025, used an RTX 4070 Ti Super, Ryzen 7 7800X3D, 32 GB RAM, and Samsung 990 PRO 1 TB SSD. Its tables report native Ultra averages of 125 fps at 1080p, 95 fps at 1440p, and 80 fps at 4K. With DLSS Quality and Frame Generation enabled, its reported averages were 190, 150, and 115 fps at those respective resolutions. Beebom also notes a 1440p drop to 95–100 fps in Svartalfheim. These are that outlet’s results, not a reproduced or universal benchmark. Beebom’s performance report.
Location can affect performance as well as graphics settings. PC Gamer reported an early dip in Svartalfheim and recurring 20–30 fps in the Realm Between Realms on its review setup. That is one reviewer’s observation, not evidence that every PC or current game build experiences the same dips. PC Gamer’s performance analysis.

How upscaling and frame generation affect the comparison
Sony’s 2024 PC feature list names NVIDIA DLSS 3.7, AMD FSR 3.1, and Intel XeSS 1.3, as well as frame generation for technologies that support it. Those version numbers describe what the August 2024 post listed; they should not be read as a statement about later software updates. Sony’s official performance tiers are native-resolution targets without upscaling, so compare them separately from results using DLSS, FSR, XeSS, or frame generation.
Frame generation can raise a reported frame-rate average, as in Beebom’s test, but that number is not directly equivalent to a native-rendering result. When evaluating a benchmark or your own settings, note the resolution, preset, upscaler and quality mode, frame generation state, test scene, and GPU. An average also does not describe every brief dip or frame-time variation.

Sony lists 190 GB of SSD space for every requirements tier. The PC requirements also show 8 GB of RAM for the 1080p Low target and 16 GB for the higher listed tiers. These are the publisher’s stated requirements and targets.
In Patch 2 notes dated September 21, 2024, Santa Monica Studio said it changed the launch block for GPUs with less than 6 GB of VRAM while retaining 6 GB as the required specification. The studio cautioned that unsupported 4 GB cards may encounter performance issues or crashes. The patch also fixed an issue that prevented NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation from initializing and addressed related NVIDIA Reflex display and timing issues. How to judge whether your PC is a good fit
- Start with your target resolution and preset. Use Sony’s native-resolution tiers as a baseline, rather than assuming a card suited to 1080p Low will deliver 4K performance.
- Separate native results from upscaled results. A benchmark using DLSS Quality or frame generation is a different configuration from a native-resolution run.
- Check the test conditions. Match GPU, resolution, preset, rendering mode, and scene as closely as possible when comparing published frame rates.
- Allow for scene variation. Reviewer reports of dips in particular locations mean a single average should not be taken as a guarantee of steady performance throughout the game.
- Check practical requirements. Sony specifies 190 GB on an SSD, a 6 GB VRAM requirement in the cited patch notes, and a PlayStation Network account in its requirements post.
