Weapons in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 come from merchants, enemies and bosses, exploration, quests, Paint Cages, and scripted events. Gustave and Verso share a weapon pool; Lune, Maelle, Sciel, and Monoco have separate pools. Game Checklists labels its reference “All 117 Weapons,” but its reported totals have an arithmetic inconsistency, so treat 117 as that checklist’s count rather than an independently verified in-game total.
How many weapons are there?
Game Checklists, in a page with no publication year stated, labels its list “All 117 Weapons” and describes it as “116 + 1 obtainable Weapons.” It also says 104 weapons are in the base game and 13 were added in the Thank You Update; those two figures already total 117, before the separately described New Game Plus Baguette. The page’s own count and breakdown therefore do not reconcile. The safest description is 117 weapons — Game Checklists, year not stated on the page, not a developer-confirmed total.

The available reference details establish the character pools, types of acquisition, update locations, and Baguette’s prerequisite, but do not identify every weapon name and its individual location. Listing a complete item-by-item inventory from those details would require unsupported guesses. Game Checklists’ page, “Expedition 33: All 117 Weapons Checklist with Locations,” is the named checklist to consult for its individual entries.
Which characters share weapons?
Gustave and Verso
Gustave and Verso share a weapon pool, according to Game Checklists and Gamer Guides. The Thank You Update section of the checklist includes weapons associated with Verso’s Drafts and the Endless Tower.

Lune
Lune has her own weapon section in the checklist. Her weapons follow the same broad acquisition routes as the other characters’ equipment: vendors, combat rewards, exploration, quests, Paint Cages, and events.
Maelle
Maelle has a separate weapon pool. For a completion sweep, check both optional paths and areas opened by story progress rather than relying on the main route alone.

Sciel
Sciel’s weapons are listed separately from the shared Gustave/Verso pool. Some common drops can have more than one possible location; Game Checklists selects a convenient location for those entries.
Monoco
Monoco also has a distinct weapon section. As with the other character lists, the checklist’s chosen location for a common drop should be read as a useful route, not necessarily the only place it can appear.

Where should you look for weapons?
Weapon acquisition is spread across the world and progression systems, not limited to mandatory boss rewards. The checklist describes merchant purchases, common-enemy and boss drops, exploration finds, quests, Paint Cages, and specific events. GameMappers’ guide, updated 27 February 2026, likewise points players toward side paths, post-battle rewards, Paint Cages, and locations that become accessible as the story advances.
- Explore side routes: Check branches off the main path and newly accessible areas; weapons may be placed away from the direct route.
- Inspect Paint Cages: Treat them as possible weapon sources when clearing an area.
- Check combat and quest rewards: Both ordinary enemies and bosses may drop weapons, and some acquisitions are tied to quests or events.
- Visit merchants: Purchases are one of the checklist’s stated acquisition types.
For broad map cleanup, the GameMappers guide is a useful companion to the character-organized checklist. Neither general route advice nor a convenient listed location guarantees that every weapon is obtained automatically through the story.

What changes when you upgrade a weapon?
Gamer Guides’ “All Weapons Locations,” last updated 10 January 2026, says weapons can be upgraded as far as level 33 and that upgrading changes both weapon power and attribute scaling. Its character tables provide weapon-specific traits and effects unlocked at upgrade levels. Those differences mean the highest upgrade level alone does not establish a universal best weapon; compare the relevant weapon’s scaling and effects with the character and build you are using.

Game Checklists describes Baguette as a special New Game Plus weapon with a missable prerequisite. According to its procedure, carry a Festival Token from the Expedition Festival through the prologue’s Gommage, finish the game with the token, then exchange it in New Game Plus. The checklist says this route grants one copy.

- Keep it through the prologue’s Gommage; do not lose or spend it before then.
- Complete the game while still carrying the token.
- In New Game Plus, exchange the retained token for Baguette.
This is a New Game Plus reward, not an ordinary weapon pickup in a first playthrough. Because the token must survive an early story event and remain with you through the completed game, missing the prologue condition means the described route is no longer available in that run.
What is included in the Thank You Update weapon set?
Game Checklists attributes 13 weapons across characters to the Thank You Update and includes post-launch entries associated with Verso’s Drafts and the Endless Tower. Its stated figure is a checklist breakdown; the individual weapon names and routes are not specified in the reference details summarized here. Keep update content distinct from the base-game collection when tracking progress.
