Nintendo describes its Direct archive as “The online home for exclusive Nintendo news — broadcast directly to you, the player.” That archive is the place to verify a presentation’s date, stated focus and official lineup before treating a claim as confirmed. Nintendo’s description is corporate wording, not a quotation from a named individual.
How to assess a Direct rumor
- Check who published it and when. An anonymous post or community discussion is not equivalent to a Nintendo announcement.
- Look for an official record. Check Nintendo’s Direct archive and the relevant presentation recap for the date, focus and confirmed announcements.
- Label the claim accurately. A listed announcement is confirmed; a prediction based on available information is an inference; a claim without official support remains an unverified rumor.
Online discussion can show that people are speculating, but it cannot establish Nintendo’s plans. For the September 9 presentation, the confirmed record is the official lineup—not every claim circulating around a Direct.
