To get Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, you need the Mega Dimension DLC, must complete Side Missions 2 and 108, and then finish Side Mission 139, “The Dauntless Raichu Duo.” The mission is reported to appear in a random yellow Hyperspace portal; completing it awards both Raichunite X and Raichunite Y.
What you need before starting
Both Mega Raichu forms are tied to the paid Mega Dimension DLC, not the base game alone. Nintendo lists the additional story content, including the two Mega Stones, as available from December 9, 2025. You also need a copy of Pokémon Legends: Z-A to play the DLC. Nintendo says the DLC is compatible with both the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 editions.

Unlock both Mega Raichu stones
- Complete Side Mission 2. Nintendo Life lists this as one of the prerequisites for Side Mission 139. Nintendo Everything reports that this mission involves a Pikachu trade.
- Complete Side Mission 108. This is the other reported prerequisite. Nintendo Everything says the NPC trade in this mission involves a Raichu.
- Find the yellow Hyperspace portal offering Side Mission 139. Look for “The Dauntless Raichu Duo.” Nintendo Life says it appears in a random yellow Hyperspace portal, so there is no confirmed fixed city location or guaranteed portal spawn.
- Complete “The Dauntless Raichu Duo.” Finishing the mission is reported to award both Raichunite X and Raichunite Y, which unlock Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y.
The precise mission sequence and portal information come from Nintendo Life’s walkthrough; Nintendo’s official DLC listing confirms the stones are included but does not specify this quest route.

What to expect in the Raichu Duo battle
Nintendo Everything describes the mission as a two-on-one battle in which you use one Pokémon against both opposing Pokémon, which it reports are level 115. Treat those encounter details as guide-reported information rather than an official Nintendo specification. If you are struggling, bring a Pokémon you trust for a difficult fight and be ready to manage attacks from both opponents.
For the prerequisite trades and battle description, see Nintendo Everything’s Side Mission 139 guide.

Why the stones may not be appearing
- You do not own the DLC: the Mega Stones are part of Mega Dimension; the base game by itself does not provide them.
- A prerequisite is incomplete: check that both Side Missions 2 and 108 are finished before searching for Side Mission 139.
- You are checking a fixed location: the cited guide describes the mission as appearing through a random yellow Hyperspace portal, not at one set city location.
- You have not completed the duo mission: the guide-reported reward is granted for finishing Side Mission 139.
