Where the My Room puzzle fits
The My Room lock is on Hinako’s bedroom in Shimizu Residence I. It has four positions—top, left, right, and bottom—and one plate is already at the lock. Find the three crest plates
Scales plate: solve the Scales puzzle
In Shimizu Residence II, complete the Scales puzzle to receive its plate. The Scales puzzle’s solution varies with the ending route, so use the route-specific solution if you need help arranging its pieces; the My Room layout is a separate step.
White Bird and Fox plate: finish the Ominous Photo puzzle
- In Shimizu Residence I, retrieve Hinako’s portrait and place it in the photo room.
- Set the photos to the orientations required by the active ending route.
- After the puzzle is complete, take the White Bird and Fox plate from behind the frame that falls.
Black Bird and Sword plate: make and use the Fletching Key
- In Hinako’s room in Shimizu Residence III, examine the bloodstained bookcase and take the Block of Wax from its lowest shelf.
- Pick up the Propane Tube in the Residence III kitchen.
- Carry the wax to the kitchen in Shimizu Residence I and melt it in the stove pan to obtain the Fletching Key.
- Use the key on the locked door in Residence III, then collect the Black Bird and Sword plate inside.
The last crest’s destination door or room can differ in New Game+. Follow the route and environment in your current run rather than relying on a room name from another playthrough. These pickup instructions are reported by Silent Hill f Guides and Gameranx.

Choose the layout for your ending route
Once you have all three collected plates, set them in the positions matching the ending route in progress. “Blank side” means flip that plate so its unmarked reverse faces outward. Game8 lists these four route-specific arrangements in its all-puzzles guide; PowerPyx’s puzzle guide also corroborates the Coming Home to Roost arrangement.

If the plates do not solve the lock
- Check the active ending route first. A valid arrangement for a different ending will not solve this version of the puzzle.
- Confirm the blank reverse is facing outward wherever the table calls for a blank side.
- Do not use difficulty as the deciding factor for the My Room arrangement: the guides describe the answer as ending-dependent, while the crest pickup locations are reported to remain consistent across puzzle difficulties.
- If the Fletching Key route does not lead to the expected door or room, account for New Game+ variation and follow the route-specific environment.
