To get Dawn Wings Necrozma, fuse Necrozma with Lunala using Lunar Fusion Energy. Both fusions also require enough Candy for the two Pokémon. Niantic’s Pokémon GO Fusion guide explains the process, but does not give the exact resource totals or confirm which ways to earn Fusion Energy are currently available.
Choose the form you want
The partner Pokémon determines Necrozma’s fused form and which Fusion Energy you need:
| Form | Partner | Required Fusion Energy |
|---|---|---|
| Dusk Mane Necrozma | Solgaleo | Solar Fusion Energy |
| Dawn Wings Necrozma | Lunala | Lunar Fusion Energy |
For either option, Niantic says you also need sufficient Candy for both Pokémon. Its help page does not specify the quantities, so check the requirements shown in your game before confirming the fusion.
How to fuse Necrozma
- Get Necrozma and the matching partner: Solgaleo for Dusk Mane, or Lunala for Dawn Wings.
- Collect enough Candy for both Pokémon and the corresponding Fusion Energy.
- Open the eligible Necrozma’s summary page, tap Fuse, select the eligible partner, and confirm.
How to get Solar or Lunar Fusion Energy
Niantic lists Special Research and Fusion Raids as examples of ways to earn Fusion Energy. These are possible sources, not confirmation that either is available right now. Check the current game and official Pokémon GO announcements for active opportunities in your region; the help guide does not provide a live event schedule or exact energy costs.

Separating the fused Pokémon
Fusion lasts indefinitely until you choose to separate the Pokémon. To reverse it, open the fused Pokémon’s summary page and choose Separate. Niantic says separation does not cost Candy or Fusion Energy.

While fused, the Pokémon cannot be traded or transferred to the Professor or Pokémon HOME. Niantic also lists both Dusk Mane and Dawn Wings Necrozma among Pokémon with Adventure Effects; that list may change and is not exhaustive. See the Pokémon GO Help Center’s Adventure Effects page for its current details.
