No. A Way Out does not support cross-platform play: you and your co-op partner need to play on the same type of platform. A PC player cannot join a PlayStation or Xbox player online, and Friend Pass does not change that restriction.
Which platforms can play together?
Hazelight lists A Way Out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC through Steam or the EA app. The Steam version requires the EA app. The studio’s FAQ says PS5 and Xbox Series X|S players can play through backwards compatibility; it does not list separate native versions for those consoles. Hazelight’s FAQ explicitly says cross-play between platforms is not supported: Hazelight Studios FAQ.

The console generations in the table rely on backwards compatibility, not cross-play. A PS5 player using the PS4 version still needs a PlayStation partner; an Xbox Series player using the Xbox One version needs an Xbox partner. PC, PlayStation, and Xbox players cannot join one another online.
Does Friend Pass let you play across platforms?
No. Friend Pass lets someone who owns the full game invite a friend who does not own it, but EA says the invited friend must use the same type of platform as the owner. The friend downloads the free trial from the EA app, PlayStation Store, or Xbox Store, then accepts the invitation from the game menu. See EA’s Friend Pass instructions.

What kind of co-op does A Way Out support?
A Way Out is designed for two players: one controls Leo and the other controls Vincent, according to the Xbox store listing. Its online co-op is limited to players on the same platform type. Local co-op is a separate way to play together; the cited platform information does not establish whether local play has the same online subscription requirements.

EA’s current Friend Pass instructions say both console players need an active PlayStation Plus subscription or Xbox Game Pass Core membership for online play. Subscription names and conditions can change, so check the requirements shown by your platform before playing. The cited EA instructions do not state a corresponding PC subscription requirement.
