When did Pokémon Legends: Z-A come out?
The game was released on October 16, 2025. The Pokémon Company announced the date in May 2025, and its October 2025 availability notice confirmed that both the original Nintendo Switch version and the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition were available to play: release announcement and availability notice.

Can owners of the Switch game upgrade?
Yes. Owners of the Nintendo Switch game, whether physical or digital, can buy an upgrade pack to access the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. The upgrade pack is a separate purchase; it is not included automatically with an existing Switch copy. See Pokémon’s edition and upgrade announcement for the official details.
