Usually, you should not count on it. Player reports say achievements generally do not progress in Marvel Rivals’ Practice VS. AI mode, but NetEase has not published a universal rule confirming that every achievement is excluded. Check the requirements for the specific achievement before investing time in AI matches.
What is known about achievement progress in Practice VS. AI?
Players in a Steam Community discussion posted on December 20, 2024, reported that VS. AI matches did not count toward achievements. The discussion was not conclusive: participants raised uncertainty about whether platform achievements and in-game achievements behave the same way. These are player reports, not an official eligibility policy, so they support treating Practice VS. AI as unreliable for achievement hunting—not a guarantee that every achievement is blocked. NetEase’s official patch notes do not provide a blanket answer. The Season 10 notes, published September 9, 2026, revise conditions for several named achievements after story and map updates, but do not say whether Practice VS. AI counts. See the Season 10 patch notes.
Achievements, missions, and mode rewards are different
Progress in one system does not establish progress in another. NetEase’s July 23, 2025 patch notes say Practice VS. AI grants 10 Accessory Points per match. That is a mode reward, not evidence that an achievement—or a daily, seasonal, or event mission—will advance in the same match. See the July 2025 patch notes.

Steam lists Marvel Rivals as free to play and identifies Steam Achievements as a feature, but its store listing does not specify which match modes qualify for achievement progress. View the Steam listing.
How to avoid wasting time on an ineligible match
- Open the achievement in Marvel Rivals and read its in-game requirements for any stated mode, map, hero, or other condition.
- If the requirement does not say whether Practice VS. AI qualifies, do not assume it does. Use a mode the requirement clearly supports, or test the specific achievement in an AI match before repeating the task.
- Check the achievement itself afterward. Accessory Points or mission progress from the match are not proof that achievement progress was recorded.
What changed in Season 10?
NetEase said story and map updates had made some achievement conditions invalid, so it revised conditions for named achievements including “What a Team-Up!” and “Cute, Smart, Clever.” The notes state: “Your previous progress will automatically carry over, and previously completed achievements will not be affected; you do not need to reunlock them.” That assurance applies to the listed condition changes; it does not establish Practice VS. AI eligibility.
