Helldivers 2’s official Patch 01.003.000 notes list three new Illuminate enemies: the Stingray, Crescent Overseer and Fleshmob. They bring three distinct battlefield roles: aerial strafing, attacks on Helldivers using cover, and brute-force assaults.
What are the three new Illuminate enemy types?

These descriptions come from Arrowhead Game Studios’ Patch 01.003.000 notes. They establish each enemy’s broad attack role, but do not give official difficulty ratings or matchup statistics.

How do the enemies differ in combat?
Stingray: watch the sky
The Stingray is an Illuminate jetfighter that targets Helldivers and lines up strafing runs. Its aerial support adds a threat from above rather than another ground-based attacker.
Crescent Overseer: cover is not a guarantee
The Crescent Overseer can lay barrages on Helldivers who are in cover. The notes identify that capability but do not specify the barrage’s range, damage or how to counter it.

Fleshmob: a mass of brute force
The Fleshmob is described as a failed Illuminate experiment assembled from Voteless parts. Arrowhead characterizes it as a brute battlefield force that takes hard work to destroy; the notes do not provide a numerical health value or a specific tactical counter.
What else is in Patch 01.003.000?
The three enemies are the headline addition, but the patch’s scope is broader. Arrowhead’s overview also lists weapon customization and progression, while the detailed notes cover balance changes, crash fixes, weapon fixes and miscellaneous fixes. The enemy descriptions do not, by themselves, establish how the patch changes their balance relative to other threats.

When were these enemies added?
The published dates do not provide a clear, consistent release chronology. Arrowhead’s Patch 01.003.000 page displays June 4, 2026, while an official PlayStation Blog post by Arrowhead community manager Katherine Baskin displays May 13, 2025, and describes the same three enemies. Baskin wrote, “The Illuminate threat has grown, unleashing new terrors on our citizens across the galaxy.” Because the two official pages show conflicting dates for the same named enemies, the patch identifier and enemy names are the reliable way to identify the update; the dates alone do not establish when these enemies first became available or that one page corrects the other.

PlayStation’s official Helldivers 2 page lists availability for PlayStation 5, PC and Xbox Series X|S owners. That platform information does not identify a particular retail edition or confirm current store inventory.

How the Illuminate continued to evolve
The official Helldivers 2 announcements page later describes an expanded Illuminate Fleet system and new enemy variants. That establishes continued faction development, but it is not a complete roster or a detailed chronology of every Illuminate addition.
