To make a Cosmic Exploration macro in Final Fantasy XIV, select the Stellar Mission you want to complete, note its exact recipe, and generate a crafting sequence using that recipe and your crafter’s current stats. Copy the sequence into the in-game User Macros menu, then verify it completes the craft before relying on it. A macro for one item or stat setup may not work for another.
What you need before making a macro
Stellar Missions are accepted through the exotablet. Select the mission first: its requested item determines which recipe the macro must handle. The Cosmic Crafting Log is the in-game interface for mission crafts; Square Enix describes it as enabling Disciples of the Hand to craft items for Stellar Missions. See Square Enix’s Cosmic Exploration guide.
You also need the relevant crafting stats for the class you will use. A generated sequence is built around both the recipe and the crafter’s stats, so copying another player’s macro without checking its assumptions can lead to a failed or incomplete craft.
Make a macro for the selected Stellar Mission
- Select the mission and recipe. Open the Stellar Missions interface, choose the mission you intend to complete, and identify the requested item. Use that exact recipe as the macro input.
- Record your crafter’s stats. Use the stats for the crafting class and setup you will actually use, rather than assuming a macro’s listed stats match yours.
- Generate the action sequence. Enter the recipe and your stats in a crafting macro generator such as Raphael. Review the generated sequence before copying it.
- Put the actions in User Macros. Copy the generated sequence into the game’s User Macros menu. A community guide suggests reusing macro slots for different sequences when a craft requires more than one block; follow the sequence in order.
- Run it and check the result. Craft the requested quantity, confirming that each item completes. For a timed or high-score attempt, test the sequence before depending on it during the mission.
- Submit the finished mission. Return to the mission’s normal in-game flow to turn in the requested items.
Choose between generating a macro and using a prebuilt one
| Approach | Best for | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Generate for your recipe and stats | A closer fit to your own crafter setup and the exact mission recipe. | Confirm the recipe and stats entered are correct, then verify the sequence finishes the craft. |
| Use a prebuilt recipe macro | Saving setup time when an index has an entry for the item and level you need. | Match the entry’s recipe and level to your mission, and check its stat assumptions against your own. Thonky’s macro index offers level selection and links to Teamcraft macro pages; the reviewed page showed level 100 by default. |
Generating is usually the more direct route when your stats differ from a listed macro’s assumptions. An index can be quicker when it has a suitable entry, but neither method removes the need to verify the result in your own setup.

Why one macro will not cover every mission craft
Recipes can differ in durability, progress, and quality requirements. Those differences affect the actions and sequence needed to finish a craft, so there is no universal Stellar Mission macro. The mission’s requested item—not simply the fact that it is a Cosmic Exploration craft—should determine which macro you use.
Mission score also matters: Square Enix describes Stellar Missions as receiving bronze, silver, or gold scores, with greater returns for higher scores. A macro that completes an item is not automatically the right choice for every scoring goal. Check the outcome and the mission’s timer before committing to a long sequence.

A Gamexplore guide dated April 24, 2025, reports that some higher-level crafts use multiple macro blocks and that long sequences may be too slow for certain timed Class-A missions. That is the author’s dated observation, not a guarantee about every craft or current mission. Read the Gamexplore macro guide.
Account for current Cosmic Exploration content
Cosmic Exploration has expanded across the 7.x patches. Square Enix’s Patch 7.51 notes, updated June 2, 2026, added Auxesia and tool mastery missions. An older macro list may not include every newer mission type, so check that a prebuilt entry actually covers the item you are assigned. Read the Patch 7.51 notes.

Unlocking the initial activity and unlocking a particular star are not the same requirement. Square Enix’s 7.21 notes describe the initial Lunar Development Initiative as requiring a Disciple of the Hand or Land at level 10, completion of “Endwalker,” and starting in Old Sharlayan; the official Cosmic Exploration guide lists additional prerequisites for later initiatives and stars. Check the guide for the specific content you want to access rather than treating the initial unlock as a requirement for every later area.
Once a mission is underway, the Mission in Progress widget exposes the Cosmic Crafting Log for crafters. Completing missions advances exploration progress and unlocks more advanced missions; mission difficulty and rewards are synced to the player’s current level, according to Square Enix’s guide.

Using macros on PC and console
The April 24, 2025 Gamexplore guide says copying a generated sequence is convenient on PC, while PlayStation and Xbox players may need to enter actions manually or type out macros. This is a dated platform observation, and input options can change. If pasting is unavailable in your client, use the generated sequence as a reference and enter each action carefully in User Macros.
Do not treat a macro as proven just because it came from a generator or index. Its fit depends on the selected recipe, your crafting stats, and—in timed missions—whether the full sequence finishes in time. No general success-rate or time-saving statistic for Cosmic Exploration macros is established by the cited sources.
