As of October 15, 2025, Pokémon GO has no Level-Up Research tasks for levels 41–50. Niantic raised the Trainer level cap to 80 and rebalanced XP progression; the old level 41–50 task lists are historical, not current requirements. The official revised milestones are 3,953,000 total XP for level 40 and 12,753,000 total XP for level 50.
What are the current Pokémon GO level 41–50 tasks?
There are none. In its October 15, 2025 progression update, Niantic said, “Tasks for Level-Up Research for levels 41 to 50 will be removed. Level-Up Research tasks will only be associated with levels 71 to 80.” The update also raised the Trainer level cap from 50 to 80 and rebalanced the XP curve. Niantic said players’ previously earned XP would be applied to the new curve and that no player would drop in level. Read the official leveling update.

If a guide lists research tasks for levels 41–50 as requirements, it describes the former system. Check the in-game Trainer profile and progression display for your account’s current status.
How much XP do you need for level 50?
Under the revised system, Niantic lists 12,753,000 total XP to reach level 50. This is a cumulative milestone, not the XP required solely to advance from level 40 to 50. The official announcement also lists 3,953,000 total XP to reach level 40. It does not publish separate XP totals for each level from 41 through 49, so those intermediate milestones cannot be calculated from the figures listed there without guessing. XP can come from catching Pokémon, visiting PokéStops, battling, and other gameplay actions, according to the Pokémon GO Help Center. Excess XP can carry forward while a player completes required Level-Up Research. The Help Center’s current description associates that research with levels 70–80, not 41–50.
What were the old level 41–50 tasks?
Niantic’s December 2020 overview described the former challenges by theme. It offered examples rather than a durable, complete list of exact task counts. The themes below are useful for understanding old guides, but none is a current level 41–50 requirement. See Niantic’s 2020 level-cap overview.

| 41 | Catch many Pokémon in a single day, among other requirements. |
| 42 | Evolve Eevee into its available evolutions and use Evolution items on specified Pokémon. |
| 43 | Perform in Gym and Raid Battles and earn a specified number of Platinum medals. |

| 46 | Complete Field Research tasks, hatch Eggs, and take GO Snapshot photos. |
| 47 | Win raids using teams that meet specified qualifications. |
| 48 | Build Buddy friendship, including walking and collecting Souvenirs. |
| 49 | Build friendships with other Trainers, send Gifts, and obtain Lucky Pokémon through trades. |
| 50 | Complete a broad endgame challenge involving Excellent Throws, catching Legendary Pokémon, and defeating Team GO Rocket Leaders with Pokémon under 1,500 CP. |
Because the 2020 overview gives themes rather than a complete, exact task-count checklist, treat older numbers found elsewhere as historical details and verify any present-day task in the game.

Yes. The October 15, 2025 update removed Level-Up Research from levels 41–50 and moved the level cap to 80. Older checklists may still help explain what those challenges used to involve, but they should not be used to plan current progression through levels 41–50.
