Bungie’s instructions at the time were to join the official Marathon Discord and follow the signup steps in the server; that is not an active signup route today.
How the Marathon alpha signup worked
On April 12, 2025, Bungie told interested players to join the official Marathon Discord and follow the server’s signup steps. Bungie said selected players would be invited by email, at the start of the playtest and throughout it. Registration did not guarantee an invitation. Bungie’s April 12, 2025 gameplay reveal described the alpha as a small, closed test for adults aged 18 or older in North America.
The alpha ran from April 23 through May 4, 2025. Those dates have passed, so there is no current alpha form or active Discord signup for that test.
What happened after the alpha?
Bungie later announced other opportunities to play, but those windows have also ended:

Where to look for a future playtest
The cited announcements do not confirm an open alpha signup now. For any future test announcement, check Bungie’s official news and the official Marathon Discord. Follow the instructions in a dated announcement rather than relying on old alpha registration directions. Bungie’s help FAQ may still show outdated development and release-date wording, so use its dated news announcements for current status.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Can buying Marathon get you into a test?
No. Buying the game or merchandise does not provide access to a closed test that has ended. Check Bungie’s official channels for any new access details rather than treating a purchase as a test invitation.
