The official notes state the changes, but they do not establish how much stronger Amon became in actual play or which build is now best.
What changed in Amon’s October 2025 update?
Gearbox described its October 2, 2025 balance update as an effort to improve build diversity by adjusting underperforming skills. Amon received changes across his skill trees and abilities, including damage increases, a larger Vengeance maximum, and other adjustments to cooldowns and passive bonuses. The figures below are the patch notes’ stated tuning values, not measurements of post-patch performance.

What did Amon get after October?
A separate major update on December 11, 2025 increased damage for Amon’s elemental Forge Weapons: Tempered Pyre by about 20%, Tempered Ice by about 23%, and Tempered Lightning by about 13%. These are additional December changes, not part of the October balance patch. The December notes also say Amon’s and Rafa’s elemental stats now display correctly when players skip the prologue. Is Amon stronger after the updates?
The patch notes show that many listed values increased, so the updates were intended to improve underperforming options and widen build diversity. They do not provide player pick rates, endgame clear data, win rates, or a comparison of Amon’s overall strength before and after the changes. That means the documented buffs alone cannot show how much his practical performance improved or establish a best Amon build.
Before the October patch, GamesRadar reported that Gearbox had moved the Vault Hunter update to October 2 to allow additional QA, amid community discussion about desired Amon buffs. What about the September 2026 balance announcement?
A Borderlands 4 announcement listing surfaced a September 17, 2026 balance announcement referring to adjustments for base-game Vault Hunters and mentioning Amon. Its exact Amon changes are not established here, so the October and December 2025 figures above should not be treated as a complete account of later tuning.
