GamesBeat’s report, published July 31, 2024 and updated June 18, 2025, outlined player profiles, manual match searches and different photo-visibility options. It documents the service’s plans at that time, not whether it is operating today.
How Date Like Goblins planned to arrange dates
Players would create goblin profiles, list when they were available to play, search for people using filters, and arrange dates over voice chat. The pitch was to make gaming the setting for a date rather than treating a game as a mere interest on a conventional dating profile.
GamesBeat reported that users could search by age, gender, location, keywords and D&D moral alignment. The search was presented as user-directed, rather than relying on an algorithm to select matches. The company also said it wanted to support platonic connections as well as romantic ones; that describes its stated intent, not demonstrated user outcomes.
