Valve’s official sources do not confirm a Deadlock update dated September 12 or 13, 2026. The nearest verified entry is the Minor Update – 09-16-2026, posted September 16. Its changes should not be attributed to either earlier date.
What date is verified?
The official Steam news feed and Deadlock forum identify a September 16, 2026 update, not a September 12 or 13 patch. The Deadlock Wiki archive is a secondary index; Valve’s official news feed and forum post are the relevant references for the update’s date and contents.
Comeback mechanics and match economy
The September 16 notes revise how Unstable Rift resistance scales over a match. It starts at 10%, increases by 1% per minute, and reaches a stated cap of 40% at 30 minutes; the notes say the previous maximum was 35%. These are in-game tuning values published by Valve, not external performance statistics.
The update also removes a fixed extra bonus for players who are only slightly behind in net worth and reduces comeback bounties generally. When players above the enemy team’s average net worth earn extra comeback value, 70% of that value is redirected through tick gold to the two lowest players.

Objective rewards and respawn timing
- Guardian bounty increases by 10%, and Walker bounty increases by 5%.
- The nearby-hero share of objective bounty drops from 30% to 25%; the remainder is split among all six players.
- At 20 minutes, respawn time increases from 35 seconds to 38 seconds. The note says later maximum values are unchanged.
Movement, parrying, and map interactions
- Parrying pauses reloading. A parry during a regular dash cancels the dash and its momentum.
- Being stunned pauses a reload rather than restarting it.
- Underground tunnel breakables first spawn at five minutes instead of three, then respawn every five minutes instead of every three.
- Move slows are reduced globally by about 20%, and ground-dash slows by about 10%. Slows also affect air drag at 35% of the slow value.
Item and hero balance
The update has separate item and hero balance sections with many individual adjustments. Among the listed item changes, Weakening Headshot’s bullet-resist reduction moves from -13% to -12%, Hollow Point’s bullet-resist reduction rises from 9% to 10%, and Shadow Weave now builds from Sprint Boots.
