The refund promise covered buyers on PS5 and PC, but how to claim one depended on where the game was purchased. The game is no longer playable online, and Sony said a refunded player would lose access to it.
How to get a Concord refund
Firewalk’s September 3, 2024 announcement outlined different refund routes for each purchase channel. Use the store or retailer where you bought the game:

The announcement did not give Steam or Epic a matching, specific refund-processing timetable. For physical purchases, it did not promise one universal process or a direct refund from Sony.
These routes describe the promise made in 2024. If you are still trying to resolve a purchase, contact the relevant storefront or retailer directly to ask about your transaction.

When did Concord go offline?
The shutdown announcement was published on September 3, 2024, and gave September 6, 2024, as the date the game would be taken offline. PlayStation’s announcement said sales would cease immediately. Concord had launched on August 23, 2024, according to Ars Technica.
Can you still play Concord after a refund?
No. Firewalk’s announcement said, “Once refunded, players will no longer have access to the game.” The game was also taken offline on the announced date, so owning a copy does not restore access to its online service.

What if you bought a physical PS5 copy?
Physical copies existed, but Sony directed buyers to the retailer from which they purchased the game for refund assistance. A disc does not preserve access to the offline game service; the announcement confirms the shutdown but does not describe any way to play the game offline.
Sony’s announcement does not establish whether a PS5 disc is currently available from any particular retailer, including Amazon. A listing, if one appears, would not by itself show that the game remains playable.

Why did Sony shut Concord down?
Game director Ryan Ellis said the team had heard feedback and recognized that the launch had not met its aims: “While many qualities of the experience resonated with players, we also recognize that other aspects of the game and our initial launch didn’t land the way we’d intended.” He said the studio would explore options for the game, including ways to better reach players. That was the plan stated at the time, not confirmation of a later return.
Ars Technica reported an estimate of 25,000 total sales across PS5 and PC from GameDiscoverCo analyst Simon Carless. That figure is an analyst estimate, not an official Sony sales result; the cited sources do not establish an official final sales total or how many refunds were processed.
