Hallow’s End is a seasonal WoW event built around trick-or-treating, holiday quests, Tricky Treats, and the Headless Horseman. Blizzard’s latest dated event notice in the sources available here covers Retail in 2025—not 2026—and does not establish how the event works in Classic. Use the Retail details below as year-labeled guidance, and check Blizzard’s current announcement or the in-game calendar for this year’s dates and rules.
What is confirmed for Hallow’s End in 2026?
As of October 8, 2026, the official Blizzard notices cited here do not confirm the 2026 event schedule or any 2026 changes. Blizzard’s 2025 Retail announcement scheduled Hallow’s End for October 18 through November 1; those dates are historical, not a confirmation of the 2026 event. The older event page also gives a date window, but its year-sensitive details should not be treated as current. Check Blizzard’s dated event announcement and the live in-game calendar for current information.
How to take part in the documented Retail event
Blizzard’s event guidance describes several ways to join in. Locations include inns and major settlements across Azeroth, with named stops such as Stormwind, Ironforge, Orgrimmar, Undercity, Thunder Bluff, Dalaran, Shattrath, Exodar, and Silvermoon. The exact locations and activity availability can vary by version and event year.
Trick-or-treat at inns
Visit inns and interact with the innkeeper to trick-or-treat. Blizzard’s event page also describes opening candy buckets and apple bobbing at inns. Candy buckets and holiday activities are part of the event’s Tricky Treat loop, but the current year’s rewards and exact rules should be checked in game. See Blizzard’s Hallow’s End event page for its general activity overview.

Complete holiday quests
The event page describes quests tied to the Wickerman, including lighting your faction’s Wickerman and dousing the opposing faction’s, as well as stink-bomb quests and helping towns affected by the Headless Horseman. Quests are another documented source of Tricky Treats. These are historical Retail activity descriptions, not a guarantee that every quest or location is present in every version or year.
Collect and spend Tricky Treats
In Blizzard’s event guidance, players earn Tricky Treats from quests and by opening pumpkins at inns, then spend them on seasonal items. The 2025 announcement listed vendor rewards including Patched Harvest Golem transmog pieces and several weapons. It priced each of three named weapons at 100 Tricky Treats. Those prices and stock are specific to the 2025 announcement; verify current vendor offerings in game before planning a purchase.

How the Headless Horseman encounter worked in recent Retail notices
Blizzard describes the Headless Horseman as a seasonal Dungeon Finder encounter with daily rewards. The reward and queue rules have changed between notices, so do not assume an older level threshold or reward list still applies.
- 2025: Blizzard said players could face the Horseman daily for a chance at the Headless Horseman’s Ghoulish Charger Skyriding mount and guaranteed pieces of the Ghoulish Armor transmog set. These are 2025 reward details, not confirmed 2026 rewards.
- 2024: Blizzard’s notice said characters level 10–80 could queue and receive one random Patched Harvest Golem transmog piece guaranteed each day, with no duplicates. That eligibility and reward rule belong to the 2024 event and should not be carried forward as current.
The older evergreen event page mentions a Loot-Filled Pumpkin and a level requirement of at least 89, but that page reflects an earlier event context. It is not a reliable current queue requirement. Read the year-specific notices for 2025 and 2024 rather than combining their reward or eligibility rules.

What is known about Hallow’s End in WoW Classic?
The cited official sources do not establish whether Hallow’s End is active in a particular Classic version in 2026, or give Classic-specific dates, quests, Dungeon Finder eligibility, currency, or rewards. Do not assume Retail’s dates, activities, queues, level limits, or vendor items apply to Classic. Check the announcement and event calendar for your specific Classic version when the event approaches.
Blizzard’s May 2025 announcement says access to Mists of Pandaria Classic is included with an active WoW subscription or game time, but it does not describe Hallow’s End implementation. That product-access detail is not evidence that the holiday is available in that version. Blizzard’s Mists of Pandaria Classic announcement.

Why checking the event year matters
Hallow’s End dates and mechanics have differed across official notices. Blizzard listed October 25–November 8 for Retail in 2024, then October 18–November 1 in 2025. The 2024 notice described level 10–80 queue eligibility and a daily transmog reward; the 2025 notice described a mount chance and guaranteed armor pieces. Treat dates, access rules, and rewards as event-year-specific rather than as permanent defaults.
