Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteThere is no verified evidence here that BetZip raised investment money. A 2006 blog post instead described it as an online poker club supported by member subscriptions, with cash prizes for tournaments. A separate 2024 financing announcement concerned Betr Holdings, a different company.
What is known about BetZip?
The available account is a SharkJumping blog post dated April 9, 2006. Its author described BetZip as a poker-style online club started by former Looksmart CEO Jason Kellerman. That attribution comes from the blogger and is not independently confirmed by the source reviewed. Source: SharkJumping, April 9, 2006.
The post described a monthly membership fee and said players did not wager money in games, while tournaments offered cash prizes. This is a historical description by a blog author, not a verified company financial statement. It does not document an equity investment round or establish how much money BetZip raised, if any.
The same post offered the author’s view of the model’s legality, but that was not a legal finding. Reader comments from 2006 and 2007 describe mixed experiences, including software issues and access limitations; they are unverified anecdotes, not reliable measures of service performance or evidence of wrongdoing.

Is the reported financing for Betr the same company?
No. On March 6, 2024, Betr Holdings, Inc. announced $15 million in strategic equity financing at a reported $375 million valuation. Betr described itself as a sports gaming and sports media company founded by Joey Levy and Jake Paul in 2022. The announcement is about Betr Holdings, not BetZip. Source: Betr Holdings, March 6, 2024.
What can be concluded about BetZip’s funding and status?
The sources available do not establish whether BetZip ever raised outside investment, who owned it, or whether it still operates. The 2006 post describes a subscription-based business model, which is distinct from player wagering and from investment funding. No current authoritative BetZip source or verified BetZip funding announcement was identified.
