If Roblox opens on your Xbox One but you cannot access the account you want, first check which Xbox gamertag is signed in, then choose Sign In and enter the Roblox username and password. If those credentials work on another device but Xbox reports a linking problem, disconnect the existing Xbox link before trying again. The steps below apply to the Roblox app on an Xbox One console, not the Roblox Windows app.
Sign in to an existing Roblox account on Xbox One
Roblox shows separate choices for Create Account, Sign In, and the currently signed-in Xbox gamertag. Use Sign In to connect an existing Roblox account. Create Account makes a new Roblox account and links it to the Xbox profile in use, so do not select it if you are trying to reach an account you already own.

The Xbox gamertag and Roblox username are different identifiers. Check that the intended Xbox profile is active, then enter the Roblox account’s username and password when prompted. Roblox’s Xbox sign-in instructions explain these choices.
If your Roblox username or password is rejected
- Confirm you are entering the Roblox username, not the Xbox gamertag.
- Try the same Roblox username and password on the Roblox website or mobile app.
- If they fail there too, use Roblox’s password-recovery process before attempting to sign in on Xbox again.
- If they work elsewhere, keep the password unchanged for now and check the Xbox profile and account link instead.
Avoid repeatedly guessing passwords, especially on a child’s account; repeated attempts can complicate security checks. Facebook Connect is not available through the Xbox app, so it cannot be used as an alternate Xbox sign-in method. See Roblox’s Xbox login troubleshooting page.

If Roblox says the account is already linked
Roblox says one Roblox account can be linked to only one Xbox gamertag at a time. If the Roblox account is connected to another gamertag, disconnect that association before linking it to the profile you want. Changing the Roblox account’s email address does not by itself remove the Xbox link. Roblox describes the Xbox linking limit and related checks.
Before disconnecting, make sure you know the Roblox username and can access the account you intend to reconnect. Unlinking does not delete the Roblox account, but it can leave you unsure which account to sign into if you have several.
Disconnect from the Xbox app
- From the Roblox home screen, press the X button to open Settings.
- Select Account.
- Select UNLINK [YOUR GAMERTAG].
- Close and relaunch Roblox, then choose Sign In and enter the intended Roblox credentials.
Disconnect from the Roblox website
- Sign in to the Roblox website with the account that is linked.
- Open Settings, then the Security tab.
- Under Xbox, select Disconnect.
- Return to the Xbox One app and sign in with the intended Roblox account.
These labels are from Roblox’s support guidance checked on August 17, 2026; console menus may change. If you can still access Roblox on a phone or browser but not the old Xbox profile, the website route may let you disconnect without using that profile. If you cannot access either account, contact Roblox Support with legitimate ownership details rather than guessing at or trying to take over the old link. Recovery depends on Roblox’s verification process.

If the wrong Xbox profile is signed in
- Quit Roblox.
- Check which Xbox account and gamertag are currently signed in.
- Switch to the Xbox profile that should be connected to Roblox.
- Relaunch Roblox and choose Sign In for your existing Roblox account.
Do not choose Create Account unless you actually want a new Roblox account. This is particularly important if another family member’s profile was active when the app was first set up.

If a child account cannot launch or link Roblox
Roblox’s support guidance says Roblox on Xbox is available for ages 10 and up, and the Xbox age setting should match the Roblox account’s age setting. Roblox’s age can be checked under Settings > Personal. Correct an age only if it is genuinely inaccurate; changing a child’s age is not a general login fix.
- Roblox will not launch: A child account may need parent permission in the Xbox Family account. Xbox privacy or content settings can also affect access.
- Roblox launches but account linking fails: Check for an age mismatch or an existing Xbox gamertag association.
- The account works but some experiences or features are unavailable: The cause may be Roblox content, communication, or maturity restrictions rather than a sign-in failure.
Xbox Family permissions and Roblox account settings are separate systems; a parent or caregiver may need to check both. Consult Roblox’s Xbox account guidance.

Quick Login, QR codes, and one-time codes
Roblox’s current Quick Login guidance says the feature is unavailable on Xbox. If the Xbox app does not offer a QR code or one-time code, that is expected. Use the Xbox Sign In flow with the Roblox username and password, or disconnect an existing link through Roblox’s Security settings.

- Quit Roblox completely and relaunch it.
- Restart the console.
- Install any pending Roblox app or Xbox system update.
- If Roblox remains stuck or crashes, reinstall the app, then check which Xbox profile is signed in before opening it again. Reinstallation does not necessarily remove the Roblox-to-Xbox link.
If several Xbox services are failing, use Xbox Support. If other online services work but only Roblox fails, contact Roblox Support. You can also check Roblox Status before making account changes.

When to contact Roblox Support
Contact Roblox if the self-service disconnect steps do not resolve an existing-link error, or if you cannot access the old Xbox profile or Roblox account needed to disconnect it. Gather the Roblox username, the Xbox gamertag involved, approximate account-creation information, verified email or phone details, and purchase receipts if available. Do not create a replacement account if the original has Robux, purchases, inventory, or progress; support recovery is subject to ownership verification.
