RIVET was the solution to Wordle #1323 on Saturday, February 1, 2025. The date and number are supported by the Wordle.today historical answer archive and contemporary coverage from The Economic Times.
Why the title says #1688
The date and puzzle number in the original title refer to different years. February 1, 2025 was #1323; #1688 corresponds to February 1, 2026. Coverage of that later puzzle reports its answer as SPINY, including Forbes and GameAnswers. Those are separate archived puzzles, so SPINY is not the answer for February 1, 2025.
How Wordle clues work
Wordle is a five-letter puzzle with up to six guesses. Each guess gives feedback that helps narrow down the answer:

- Green: the letter is in the answer and in the correct position.
- Yellow: the letter is in the answer, but in a different position.
- Gray: the letter is not in the answer.
Use the colors to rule out absent letters and reposition letters that are present. For this archived puzzle, the solution was RIVET; the available historical records establish the answer, not a particular clue-by-clue solving route.

When looking up an older puzzle, check both its calendar date and puzzle number. The records cited here identify February 1, 2025 as #1323 and February 1, 2026 as #1688. The historical answer is supported by secondary archives and reporting; an original NYT archive record was not established in the available sources.
