To get implants in Palworld, unlock the Pal Surgery Table, then check the Bounty Officer for Successful Bounty Token trades and the Arena Merchant for Battle Ticket trades. Rare or disposable implants are also associated with World Tree progression and Ancient Relic recycling. The exact catalogs and some recipes vary between published guides, so the table and merchants in your current game are the best source for what is available to you.
Unlock the Pal Surgery Table
The Pal Surgery Table is the facility used to change a Pal’s passive skills and apply implant-unlocked options. It is a Technology-tree structure. Published guides disagree about its exact unlock and crafting requirements: AllThings. How reports a level 36 access gate, Technology tier 38, and two Technology Points, with a recipe of 30 Refined Ingot, 20 High Quality Cloth, and 10 Corrosive Solvent. The community Palworld Wiki.gg entry lists Technology tier 38 and three points, with 30 Refined Ingot and 20 High Quality Cloth. Check the Technology screen in your current game for the definitive requirement and recipe. AllThings. How; Palworld Wiki.gg.
Check the table’s default passives first
You do not need to acquire an implant for every passive option. The Surgery Table offers a selection of standard passives, while implants unlock additional options. Once the facility is built, inspect its current list before spending a currency or using a rare item. Which passives appear can depend on what you have unlocked.
Trade with Bounty Officers
Bounty Officers exchange selected implants for Successful Bounty Tokens. Earn tokens by completing wanted-target or bounty activities, then visit an officer; guides identify an officer at the Small Settlement. The reported stock and prices conflict. ProGameTalk describes seven passives at 15 tokens each, while AllThings. How identifies three merchant unlocks at 30 tokens each. These are guide-reported inventories, not a dependable universal catalog. Check the officer’s live stock and item prompts before planning around a specific passive or cost. ProGameTalk; AllThings.How.

Trade with the Arena Merchant
The Arena Merchant is a separate currency route: Arena activity earns Battle Tickets, which can be exchanged for selected implants. ProGameTalk reports seven implants for 50 tickets each; AllThings. How names Serenity, Infinite Stamina, and Runner at 50 tickets apiece. Because the guides do not agree on the full inventory, use the merchant’s current listing to confirm both availability and price. ProGameTalk; AllThings.How.
Look to World Tree progression and relic processing for rare implants
Guides also associate rare or one-use implants with World Tree progression and the Ancient Relic Recycler. They do not agree on the recycler’s inputs: Palworld Companion describes using Ancient Relics and World Tree Holy Water, while Playnews describes a relic-based route without Holy Water. Confirm the machine’s in-game requirements rather than relying on either recipe. Palworld Companion; Playnews.
Published lists of disposable implants also differ. Names reported across guides include Twin-Edged Holy Blade, Sanctified Meat Shield, God of Destruction, Dimensional Leap, World Tree Seedbed, Demon God, Diamond Body, and King of the Waves; other lists include different entries, including Legend and Rainbow. These examples are not a complete or verified current catalog. Treat the item name and description shown in your game as authoritative before committing a scarce implant.
How to apply an implant to a Pal
- Move the Pal you want to edit into your active party. The table guide says Pals stored only in the Palbox do not appear for selection.
- Interact with the Pal Surgery Table and select that Pal.
- Choose an available passive option and review the confirmation prompt, including any gold cost.
- If the Pal already has four passives, choose which existing passive to replace. The guide warns that the displaced passive is removed from that Pal.
- Confirm only after checking whether the implant is reusable or will be consumed.
Standard implants are described as reusable unlocks; unique or disposable implants are consumed when applied. Sources also report gold charges for some standard applications and free use for certain unique implants. Costs are not established consistently for every item, so rely on the confirmation prompt for the Pal and implant you are using. AllThings. How; Palworld Companion.
Rank #3
Which route should you use?
| Route | Currency or input | Progression | What to verify |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bounty Officer | Successful Bounty Tokens | Complete bounty or wanted-target activities | Current stock and token cost; guide inventories disagree |
| Arena Merchant | Battle Tickets | Unlock and participate in Arena activity | Current stock and ticket cost; guide inventories disagree |
| Ancient Relic Recycler / World Tree | Relic-related materials; exact inputs are disputed | World Tree or other endgame progression | Current machine recipe and whether Holy Water is required |
If you only want to change a Pal’s passive, first inspect the table’s built-in options. If you need a particular extra passive, check both merchants before committing to one route. Save scarce disposable items for a Pal you are ready to edit, since using one may consume it and replacing an existing passive removes that passive from the chosen Pal.
