Bellion is Sung Jin-Woo’s strongest shadow in the completed original Solo Leveling story: he is Grand Marshal–Grade and defeats Beru in a sparring match. Beru and Igris are closely matched Marshal-Grade fighters, while Tusk stands out as the army’s leading mage. This ranking separates overall combat strength from specialized usefulness and treats Kamish as a temporary shadow, not a permanent member of Jin-Woo’s final army.
How Shadow Strength Works
Jin-Woo creates shadows using Shadow Extraction, and shadows can increase in grade and strength as they evolve. Grade is a useful guide, but it is not a perfect ranking: a shadow’s abilities and role matter. Before Jin-Woo fully inherits the Shadow Monarch’s power, some extracted shadows have part of their original power sealed; that limitation is removed once he becomes the complete Shadow Monarch.
All shadows can regenerate, but they are not impossible to destroy. Powerful opponents, especially Monarch-level enemies, can erase them permanently. The story does not give a complete numerical ranking for every named shadow, so the list below distinguishes clear canon rankings from close comparisons and specialist roles.
Strongest Shadows Ranked
1. Bellion — strongest shadow overall
Bellion is a Grand Marshal–Grade shadow and Ashborn’s former lieutenant. He is explicitly identified as the strongest shadow and serves as the Shadow Monarch’s lieutenant. His superiority is demonstrated when he overpowers Beru in a sparring match.

Bellion combines exceptional strength, speed, flight, and regeneration with highly skilled combat. He wields a multi-segmented weapon that can be used like a whip, as well as a sword. By the end of the original story, he is the clearest choice for Jin-Woo’s strongest shadow.
2. Beru — a leading Marshal-Grade fighter
Beru is the shadow extracted from the Ant King, the powerful enemy Jin-Woo defeats during the Jeju Island arc. He begins at General Grade and later reaches Marshal Grade. His speed, physical power, flight, regeneration, paralysis poison, and healing magic make him one of Jin-Woo’s most formidable combatants.
Beru is one of the army’s top fighters, but he is not stronger than Bellion: Bellion defeats him in a sparring match. Beru and Igris are both near the top of the army, and the story does not establish an unquestionable permanent ranking between them across every measure.

- Detailed non-poseable figure
3. Igris — elite swordsman and close peer to Beru
Igris is the shadow of Blood-Red Commander Igris, whom Jin-Woo defeats during the Job Change Quest. He is a master swordsman with extensive battlefield experience, tactical intelligence, speed, strength, regeneration, and telekinetic control. After Jin-Woo becomes the complete Shadow Monarch, Igris reaches Marshal Grade and regains his full power.
Igris is one of the strongest shadows, rivaled by Beru and surpassed by Bellion. His refined swordsmanship and hand-to-hand skill make him especially dangerous in direct combat. The Frost Monarch’s assessment of restored Igris as a dangerous opponent further reflects his standing, without proving that he always outranks Beru.
4. Tusk — the army’s strongest dedicated mage
Tusk is the shadow of Kargalgan, a High Orc Shaman defeated by Jin-Woo in an A-Rank gate. He eventually reaches General Grade and brings a different kind of strength to the army: large-scale magic rather than close-quarters combat.

His abilities include gravitation magic, offensive and protective hymns, crowd control, fire attacks, and effects that can buff allies or hinder enemies. With the Orb of Avarice, his fire magic is powerful enough to counter Baran’s breath attack and cause massive environmental destruction. Tusk’s specialist role makes him a major battlefield asset even when a direct one-on-one ranking is difficult.
5. Greed — a powerful human-derived shadow
Greed is the shadow extracted from Hwang Dongsoo after Jin-Woo defeats him. He is General Grade and specializes in physical strength, speed, regeneration, and close combat. He ranks below Bellion, Beru, and restored Igris, but above ordinary Knight- and Elite Knight–Grade shadows.
Greed has an important difference from monster-derived shadows in the revised timeline: human-derived shadows such as Greed do not remain as shadows. Their human identities are restored without memories of the original timeline.

Kamish: A Powerful but Temporary Shadow
Kamish, the dragon that was the boss of the first S-Rank Gate, was one of humanity’s most notorious calamities. Jin-Woo temporarily resurrected him as a General-Grade shadow. In life, Kamish had immense strength, Dragon’s Fear, and Dragon’s Breath, and massacred hundreds of S-Rank Hunters.
Kamish should not be counted as part of Jin-Woo’s permanent final army. His body began to disintegrate shortly after extraction because he had been dead for too long. He is best described as a powerful historical addition rather than one of Jin-Woo’s enduring strongest shadows.

Jima, Iron, Kaisel, Tank, and the Shadow Giants each serve useful roles, but the available canon does not support placing them above Bellion, Beru, Igris, or Tusk in overall strength. Their value depends on what the battle requires: mobility, durability, or additional force can matter even when a shadow is not among the army’s top-ranked fighters.
