The list below orders ten decks using a score that weighs performance, how often a deck appears, and top results—not win rate alone. It is not an official rating, a ranked-ladder guide, or a guarantee that one deck is best for every player.
The top 10 Pokémon TCG Pocket decks
The figures below come from the October 8, 2026 cohort ranking at pokemontcgpocket.app. “Share” is the reported share of the metagame; each win rate is paired with its game count. “Evidence score” and “meta rank” are separate measures, so the score order does not necessarily match the site’s meta-rank order.
| Rank | Deck | Evidence score | Meta rank | Meta share | Reported win rate and sample |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Mega Altaria ex / Espeon | 99 | #1 | 9.6% | 52.4% over 2,432 games |
| 2 | Suicune ex / Baxcalibur | 97 | #8 | 3.4% | 54.1% over 856 games |
| 3 | Dragonair / Mega Rayquaza ex | 97 | #4 | 4.6% | 52.2% over 1,189 games |
| 4 | Hoopa ex / Mega Absol ex | 97 | #7 | 3.4% | 53.9% over 845 games |

| 6 | Mega Altaria ex / Greninja | 93 | #9 | 3.1% | 50.7% over 751 games |
| 7 | Butterfree / Mega Sceptile ex | 92 | #3 | 5.5% | 50.3% over 1,323 games |

The percentages and scores are the publisher’s reported figures for its current cohort; they are not combined with other sites’ samples or metrics. The top score belongs to Mega Altaria ex/Espeon, while Suicune ex/Baxcalibur has the highest reported win rate in this ten-deck table. Those answer different questions: one is the composite ranking, the other is a win-rate estimate from its stated sample.
How this ranking works
The cohort ranking assigns 50% of its score to performance percentile based on Wilson analysis, 35% to meta-presence percentile, and 15% to best-result points. The publisher describes the score as relative to its current cohort, not as an official rating, a prediction of future wins, or a permanent verdict. See its tier-list methodology and current ranking.

#1 Best Overall
- 3 Pokemon booster packs from various sets
That blend explains why the order differs from sorting the table by win rate. A deck can be widely played without having the highest win rate, and a less-used deck can post a high rate in a smaller sample. Meta share describes presence; win rate describes reported outcomes in a particular sample. Neither number on its own establishes which deck will suit a particular player.
Why Pokémon Pocket deck rankings disagree
Independent tournament aggregators measure different windows and use different ranking rules. Their lists are useful context, but their figures should not be merged as though they were one dataset.
Rank #2
- Pokémon Zone says its tiers use the lower bound of a 90% Wilson confidence interval. That method emphasizes a conservative estimate of performance rather than treating a raw win rate as definitive.
- 20cards reports 83,351 tournament decklists from 1,000 events through September 29, 2026. It applies a 35-day half-life to older results, so recent results contribute more heavily, and also describes shrinkage in its method.
- The October 8 cohort ranking above uses its own current cohort and composite score. Its scores and game counts are not directly comparable to the other sites’ tier positions or event totals.
For example, 20cards names Mega Altaria ex and Mega Lucario ex as its two Tier S archetypes and reports that its most-played deck has 9.9% meta share. The October 8 cohort list instead places Mega Altaria ex/Espeon first and does not include Mega Lucario ex in its top ten. Different samples, dates, and methods can produce both results without either list being erroneous.
Some cross-method comparisons also use different windows even when the archetype is the same. The cohort table reports Hoopa ex/Mega Absol ex at 53.9% across 845 games; a separate comparison from the same publisher reports 55.7% across 724 games for a distinct analysis window. Do not read that difference as a change measured on an identical sample.

How to use the list when choosing a deck
Start with the goal behind your choice, then check the evidence attached to the ranking:
- If you want the highest composite position: Mega Altaria ex/Espeon leads this dated cohort list.
- If you are comparing reported win rates: Suicune ex/Baxcalibur is highest among these ten, at 54.1% over 856 games. Its sample is smaller than the one reported for the top-ranked deck, so the figures should be read with their counts.
- If you care about how commonly a deck appears: compare meta share rather than assuming the top score means the most popular choice. Mega Altaria ex/Espeon has the largest share in this table at 9.6%.
- If your expected opponents matter: a broad ranking cannot establish matchup strength against a particular deck. The cited ranking summaries do not provide matchup evidence for this list.
- If you play ranked ladder or are new to the game: treat this as tournament evidence, not a direct ladder ranking or beginner recommendation. The available data does not establish that tournament and ladder outcomes are interchangeable, or rank these decks by ease of use.
Deck-building fundamentals
A meta analysis summarizing official Pokémon guidance recommends choosing one lead attacker, using five or six Basic Pokémon, including Professor’s Research, adding search cards for evolutions, and minimizing the number of Energy types. These are general construction principles, not claims that every deck in the top ten follows an identical list. See the guidance as summarized by 20cards.
