Total War: EMPIRE is already available on iOS and Android. Feral Interactive released the mobile game on 21 November 2024; it is no longer a coming-soon launch. Here’s what to know about its gameplay, device requirements, controls, price and expansion.
When did Total War: EMPIRE launch on mobile?
Feral Interactive launched Total War: EMPIRE for iOS and Android on 21 November 2024. Its launch announcement lists the release date and says regional prices may vary.

What is included in the mobile game?
Feral describes the mobile release as the complete desktop experience adapted for iOS and Android, with redesigned interfaces and quality-of-life improvements. The game combines real-time battles with a turn-based grand campaign set in the 18th-century age of exploration and conquest. Players lead powers across Europe, India and the Americas, according to Feral’s product page.
That description is the publisher’s account of the adaptation; it is not a device-by-device performance comparison or a guarantee of identical performance across mobile hardware.

Can your phone or tablet run it?
Android requirements
Google Play lists Android 12 or later and 12 GB of free space as requirements. It recommends having at least twice that storage available to avoid initial installation issues. The listing also supports touchscreen controls or an Android-compatible mouse and keyboard. Check the Google Play listing and Feral’s linked supported-chipset and tested-device list if compatibility with a particular Android device is uncertain.
iPhone and iPad requirements
Apple’s US App Store listing recommends iOS 17 or later. Check the live listing for your region and device before buying, as store requirements and availability can differ. See the US App Store page.

Feral’s November 2024 launch announcement listed the base game at $19.99, £12.99 or €15.99, with regional prices varying. Those are launch prices, not confirmation of the current price. Check the local Google Play or App Store listing for today’s cost.

A New World arrived on 18 September 2025. Feral says the paid expansion unlocks 44 additional playable nations. Its announced in-app purchase price was $6.99, £4.99 or €6.49, with regional prices varying; check Feral’s expansion announcement and your local store for current availability and cost.
