When did Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter come out?
The English official game site gives September 17, 2026, as the release date and currently labels the game “Available Now.” Falcom’s April 17 announcement also named September 17. However, a later Falcom product page lists September 27, 2026, including in its global-release section. The official sources reviewed do not explain the discrepancy, so it is not established whether one date is an error or refers to a different release circumstance. Check the English official game site and Falcom’s product page for their respective listings; the latter date should not be described as a physical-only or regional launch without confirmation. Falcom’s original announcement is dated April 17, 2026: release announcement.

Which platforms is it available on?
The English official site lists Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Steam. The Nintendo US storefront has a Nintendo Switch product page, and the US PlayStation Store lists a PS5 Standard Edition and a free demo. Falcom’s product page lists downloadable versions for Switch, Switch 2 Edition, PS5, and Steam, as well as packaged Switch 2 Edition and PS5 products.
What should Switch buyers know about the Switch 2 Edition?
The physical Nintendo Switch 2 Edition can also be played on an original Nintendo Switch, according to the official English site. When played on original Switch, it uses the resolution and frame rate of the Nintendo Switch version; Switch 2 performance should not be assumed on that hardware. The site lists both Switch generations, but this compatibility detail specifically concerns the physical Switch 2 Edition. See the official game site for the platform and edition information.

Are physical and digital editions available?
Official listings cover both formats, though availability depends on platform and retailer. Falcom lists packaged Switch 2 Edition and PS5 products alongside digital versions for Switch, Switch 2 Edition, PS5, and Steam. The US PlayStation Store page lists its PS5 Standard Edition digitally, as well as a free demo. Falcom’s April announcement also described a limited Ouroboros Box containing a game package or Steam key-code card, a music selection, and a DLC costume set; that announcement does not establish current stock. The reviewed official pages do not establish current US third-party stock or pricing, so check the relevant storefront for live availability and price rather than relying on an announced edition description.
