Before advancing the Final Chapter’s story, finish the Grancel exploration and side content you still want: the chapter guide warns that moving on closes the capital off and ends its available subquests. Collect several Carnelia volumes and Liberl News issues on their event schedule, and check the map’s remaining-treasure indicator before entering the Sealed Area, the final dungeon you cannot leave once entered.

Use this as a chapter-level route for books, recipes, dialogue BP, and access-sensitive content—not as a verified chest-by-chest inventory. The map’s remaining-treasure indicator is important, especially before the final dungeon. - After the opening change of plans, revisit Air-Letten for Carnelia Volume 8.
- Before entering Grancel, stop at Gurune Gate for Carnelia Volume 9.
- On Grancel’s first visit, collect the listed recipes and Liberl News Issue 8 before proceeding with the guild scene.
- During the tournament and nighttime events, explore the sewers, collect Carnelia Volume 10, and complete the cathedral stealth section.
- After the cathedral events, follow Anton and Marsha’s event for Carnelia Volume 11; then obtain the later news issues and turn in the Carnelia volumes when available.
- Before entering the Sealed Area, complete remaining capital content and sweep available treasure icons.
Air-Letten and Gurune Gate: Carnelia Volumes 8 and 9
Volume 8 at Air-Letten
The Zeiss-region map becomes available again after the opening change of plans. Fast-travel to Air-Letten and speak with the guard in the rest area to receive Carnelia Volume 8.
Volume 9 at Gurune Gate
Before moving into Grancel, visit Gurune Gate. Go to the second floor and speak with a private soldier to obtain Carnelia Volume 9.

Grancel first visit: recipes, Issue 8, and Royal Message BP
Collect the first-visit recipes
- Gorgeous Crepe: buy it from Nonna near the Grancel entrance.
- Refreshing Pie, Mixed Cocktail, and Hearty Bouillabaisse: Sunnybell Inn, north of the Guild.
- Special Ice Cream: buy it at the Sorbet stall in the East District. Cooking it with Joshua unlocks Brown Sugar Syrup Parfait.
- Concentrated Espresso and Artisan Rice Curry: Baral Coffee House in the West District. Cooking Artisan Rice Curry with Estelle unlocks Hearty Baked Curry Doria.
Pick up Liberl News Issue 8
Speak with Lily inside Edel Department Store in the East District to get Liberl News Issue 8.
Choose the Royal Message response
At Elnan’s Royal Message scene, select “The letter of introduction won’t work?” for the walkthrough’s +1 BP choice.
Tournament events: sewer recipe, Volume 10, and BP choices
Find Chewy Spare Ribs in the sewers
On the second tournament day, enter the Grancel Sewers from the West Block and descend to the chest containing Chewy Spare Ribs. The walkthrough says cooking this with its Peculiar Dish variant awards two trophies.
Answer Nial’s recap question
When reviewing documents with Nial at the Liberl News office, answer “Colonel Richard” for the walkthrough’s +2 BP choice.

Get Carnelia Volume 10 and pass the cathedral stealth segment
During the nighttime approach to the cathedral, detour to the Landing Port and speak with Ralph on the airship deck for Carnelia Volume 10. For the lower South District entrance, the guide’s stealth advice is to let the soldiers approach, then dash past when they return to their posts. It reports a 5 BP reward for reaching the cathedral.
After the cathedral and banquet: Volume 11 and recap BP
Follow Anton and Marsha for Carnelia Volume 11
In the East District after the cathedral events, wait for Marsha to pass Anton three times. Speak with Marsha, then Anton, to receive Carnelia Volume 11.
Choose both Nial recap responses
After the banquet, the walkthrough lists these two responses for +4 BP: “He was called away by someone” and “About Princess Klaudia’s arranged marriage.”
News issues, Carnelia rewards, and the point of no return
Collect the later Liberl News issues
The guide lists Liberl News Issue 9 at Edel Department Store, along with a Special Edition available there during the Queen’s Birthday Festival. Timing is tied to story events; collect them before advancing beyond the point that closes access to Grancel and its subquests.

Check treasure indicators and remaining side content
The sewers connect the West, East, and North Blocks, with the North Block becoming accessible during the final offensive. Before entering the Sealed Area, finish the Grancel side content you care about and check the lower-left treasure indicator on the open map. The guide identifies the Sealed Area as the last dungeon and says you cannot exit after entering.
The available guide text does not provide a reliable complete inventory of every final-dungeon chest. Follow the map’s remaining-treasure indicator rather than treating this article as proof that every chest has been listed. The walkthrough calls the dungeon labyrinthine and recommends using its map screenshots.
Optional Lorence encounter
The walkthrough describes Lorence as a difficult optional fight that awards 3 BP and a silver trophy. Its suggested approach is to keep buffs such as Clock Up EX, Sylphen Wing, and Earth Wall active, avoid basic attacks that invite counters, and rely on Arts or Crafts. Treat this as that author’s strategy, not a universal party requirement.

Which walkthrough reference should you use?
The free GameFAQs walkthrough by Lillian Yeung (shockinblue), updated February 25, 2026, is a community guide for chapter progression and missables. Its author says it is based on PS5 and covers PS5, Switch, and Steam; New Game Plus with Enemy Level +50 changes contents of some chests. Treat it as a community reference, not an official guide, and be alert to differences by mode or version.
For a broader printed reference, Nihon Falcom’s official Japanese complete guide is listed as a 240-page book published in 2025. Falcom describes it as covering maps, story flowcharts, BP choice outcomes, collectible timing, sidequest steps, and enemy and item data. Its costume code is listed for Switch 2, Switch, and PS5, not Steam; the ebook does not include the code. See Falcom’s official guide listing.
