The new LEGO Decepticon in this reveal is reported to be Megatron, sold as the LEGO BrickHeadz Transformers Megatron Robot & Vehicle, set number 40924. The details below come from a Tformers specialist report from 2026. They are not drawn from an official LEGO product page for 40924, and the reported June 1, 2026 release date has already passed as of October 2026, so current availability and pricing need to be checked directly.
What the reveal shows
The Tformers report describes a two-form Megatron build. Its details, all attributed to that report, are:
- Product: LEGO BrickHeadz Transformers Megatron Robot & Vehicle
- Set number: 40924
- Piece count: 224 (Tformers, 2026)
- Reported US price: US$24.99 (Tformers, 2026)
- Reported retail release: June 1, 2026 (Tformers, 2026)
- Forms: a robot form and an alternate vehicle form
- Finish: decorated eyes and Decepticon logos on the figures
Because the report could not be matched to an official LEGO listing for 40924, treat the piece count, price and release date as reported figures until LEGO’s own catalog confirms them. No named designer or LEGO spokesperson has been quoted about this Megatron set in the coverage reviewed.
Megatron 40924 is not the Soundwave set
Readers searching for a LEGO Decepticon often land on Transformers: Soundwave (LEGO Icons, set 10358), which is a different and much larger product. LEGO’s official designer interview describes Soundwave as the first Decepticon in the LEGO Icons Transformers lineup. The comparison below separates the two.

What LEGO has said about Soundwave’s design
LEGO’s designer interview is the best official account of how a LEGO Transformers figure is engineered. It says the cassette window was an early engineering focus, that the conversion is based on how the original toy folds, and that Soundwave went through roughly 30 design iterations. Designer Áron Gerencsér is quoted as saying: “Soundwave went through roughly 30 iterations.” These remarks concern Soundwave only and do not describe the Megatron 40924 build.
