Where Winds Meet’s “Twelve Years of Feuds” is a Kaifeng Jianghu Legacy quest that moves from clue-following and stealth into a time-shifted sequence with two boss fights: He Yuezhi and Shen Yiren. The key section hinges on returning at night, eavesdropping from a rooftop, and stealing the Ancestral Hall key without being detected.
How to start and track Twelve Years of Feuds
Game8 lists this as Jianghu Legacy 06. Its reported starting route is to speak with the Wayfarer at the Granary of Plenty, then open Exploration > Side Story and inspect the quest to track its location. GamesRecon says to complete the preceding Kaifeng Lost Chapters through “March of the Dead” first. The guides differ in how they describe the prerequisite, so if the quest is not available, check your in-game Kaifeng quest progression and the Side Story list.

Investigate Sorrowfield Village
- Go to Sorrowfield Village and find the injured merchant. Help him, then follow the clues into the village.
- Investigate the stain identified by the quest, then follow the shadowy figure.
- Enter the walled residence by climbing over the wall. Defeat the three dogs inside.
- Speak with Zheng Zongxian to advance the investigation.
These are the reported guide steps; follow the active quest marker if your route or objective wording differs.

Steal the Ancestral Hall key
- Leave the area and return to eavesdrop on the conversation. The key conversation is available at night; GamesRecon describes Xu hour as roughly 19:00–23:00. Wait until then or advance the in-game time.
- Climb onto a nearby rooftop and eavesdrop on the conversation that reveals Zheng Zongxian has the Ancestral Hall key.
- When Zheng leaves, stay close without alerting him and use Celestial Seize to take the key. Game8 warns that detection means retrying this part.
- Use the key at the Ancestral Hall and inspect the Mycelium-Wrapped Tablet to trigger the time-shift.
Follow the past sequence and finish the quest
After the tablet shifts you into the past, use the objective markers to navigate the remaining story beats. Game8’s listed sequence is:
- Go to the Town Academy.
- Defeat He Yuezhi and his henchmen.
- Head to the main residence and defeat Shen Yiren.
- Speak to the Tomb Keeper.
GamesRecon includes additional conversations, including speaking with Young Zheng E and returning to the present for a final conversation with Tomb Keeper Zheng Wenhuan. The guides vary in how much of the intervening story they spell out, so let the current quest objective guide the exact route.
Boss tips: He Yuezhi and Shen Yiren

Game8’s associated boss advice is to draw out or clear nearby enemies before starting the fight and use high ground where possible. It also recommends parrying attacks marked by a red glint. Keeping the surrounding enemies from overwhelming you is especially useful during this encounter.
Shen Yiren
Shen Yiren uses both spear and bow attacks, according to GamesRecon. Its recommendations are to dodge or parry spear sweeps, move away from his arrow-rain attack, and parry ranged attacks when the opening allows. These are guide recommendations rather than independently tested strategies.
