In a June 27, 2024 interview, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot described a push for more regular Assassin’s Creed releases, including remakes and the already announced Assassin’s Creed Hexe—but he gave no release dates for either. His comments also sketched Ubisoft’s broader focus on open-world action adventures and service games, while his remarks about generative AI and cloud gaming were possibilities, not promises of features or launch plans.
Ubisoft’s portfolio: open worlds and games as a service
Speaking after Ubisoft Forward, Guillemot said Ubisoft was focusing on two areas: action-adventure games set in open worlds and Games as a Service experiences. He pointed to Star Wars Outlaws and Assassin’s Creed Shadows as examples of the first, and Rainbow Six Siege as an example of the second. He argued that listening to players helps service games evolve over time. These were descriptions of Ubisoft’s portfolio direction, not a claim that every game follows the same model. More regular Assassin’s Creed games, with variety between them
Asked whether the series would continue to offer both smaller and larger experiences, Guillemot said Ubisoft wanted games to arrive more regularly without making every annual entry feel alike. As he put it: “The goal is to have Assassin’s Creed games come out more regularly, but not for it to be the same experience every year.”
He named remakes that would modernize older games as part of that direction, and described Assassin’s Creed Hexe as a forthcoming title that would be very different from Shadows. The interview did not give release dates for the remakes or Hexe, nor details about which older games might be remade or how Hexe would differ in gameplay.

What he said about technology
Guillemot cited Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ weather system as an example of environmental effects influencing gameplay. He also suggested generative AI could enrich non-player characters and open worlds, and pointed to cloud technology and faster adoption of new technology as possible routes to new experiences. These were his outlook and examples; they do not establish that the proposed AI or cloud features have shipped, or that a particular future game will include them.

The figure describes the community, not game sales, and the report did not give release dates for the projects. GameSpot’s report
