Ubisoft announced that Captain Laserhawk: The G.A.M.E. was scheduled to launch on December 18, 2024, and Ubisoft’s current Eden Online page lists that date as its early-access release. The game is a free-to-play multiplayer arena shooter inspired by the Netflix series Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix. Its Web3 component centered on Niji Warrior digital collectibles, which offered eligible holders early access and planned governance features; owning one was not the same as owning the game or its art.
When did Captain Laserhawk: The G.A.M.E. launch?
The announced date was December 18, 2024—not an upcoming launch date. The Arbitrum Foundation and Ubisoft announced the schedule on December 11, 2024, and Ubisoft’s Eden Online page lists December 18, 2024 as the early-access release date.

The game is distinct from the Netflix animated series. It is set in the series-inspired world of Eden and was announced as a competitive top-down multiplayer shooter.
What kind of game is it?
Ubisoft describes Captain Laserhawk: The G.A.M.E. as a free-to-play retro arcade multiplayer arena shooter. Its game page describes fast-paced battles for eight players, unlockable cosmetics, a leaderboard, optional purchases and skill-based progression. These are the publisher’s descriptions of the game, not independent performance or quality assessments.

Ubisoft’s description presents ordinary game access as free-to-play. The available information does not establish that a Niji Warrior ID or another NFT is required to play.
What did the Web3 features add?
The Niji Warrior ID collection was the game’s NFT-linked layer. Ubisoft and the Arbitrum Foundation said holders would receive early access and governance features, including participation in decisions about game mechanics, maps and story developments, alongside rewards and community access. Magic Eden announced a collection of 10,000 NFTs; that figure is the collection’s announced size, not a player count or sales total.
Ubisoft Technical Director and Executive Producer Didier Genevois described the project as collaborative game development in which players could become co-creators. Governance was presented as a feature of the Niji Warrior IDs, not as ownership of Ubisoft, the game or its intellectual property.
What does Ubisoft say about NFT ownership and risk?
Ubisoft’s Web3 terms describe digital collectibles as NFTs representing items such as in-game cosmetics, intended for enjoyment and use. The terms say a collectible is not an investment, does not guarantee future value and may lose its in-game use if Ubisoft stops operating the associated experience.

A compatible third-party wallet is required for Web3 collectibles, and users are responsible for safeguarding private keys.

- Transferring a collectible may remove the associated cosmetic from the user’s game inventory.
What are the current access and collectible deadlines?
Ubisoft’s current Eden Online page says the Eden Battle Arena is coming to a close. It also says players who have already signed up can continue to access the game and claim shop items and Battle Pass collectibles, then mint them on the E.V.M. until June 30. The page does not state the year for that cutoff, so check the current page before relying on the date.
This continued access and claim language is specifically for players who have already signed up; it should not be read as confirmation that new sign-ups or all game features remain available.
What is required to use the Web3 collectibles?
Ubisoft’s terms set conditions for accessing Web3 collectibles. They require a valid Ubisoft account, two-factor authentication, a minimum age of 18 (or older where local law requires) and a compatible third-party crypto wallet. Availability is geographically restricted, and Ubisoft says its regional eligibility list can change. Collectible acquisition may also depend on availability and deadlines.
Those conditions apply to the collectibles, not necessarily to playing the free-to-play game. Confirm current eligibility and terms before attempting to acquire or mint an item.
