Battle Aces was announced on June 7, 2024, as Uncapped Games’ fast-paced PC real-time strategy game, built around quick matches and customizable Unit Decks. It did not reach full release: after closed beta tests, the developer announced on May 23, 2025, that development had ended because returns from early testing were not strong enough to support continuing.
What was Battle Aces?
Battle Aces was Uncapped Games’ attempt to make contemporary real-time strategy (RTS) combat quicker to enter without removing strategic choices. Its June 2024 reveal described a game where players planned an army before a match, then adapted their choices during play. The announcement framed the design as a way to get players into combat faster than in a more traditional RTS. Uncapped Games’ June 7, 2024 reveal
How were Unit Decks and matches supposed to work?
Unit Decks shaped your army
Players would build a customizable Unit Deck to determine which units they could field and shape their playstyle. The concept combined pre-match preparation with in-match adaptation: choose an army composition first, then make strategic decisions as the battle unfolded.
Short matches and announced modes
In its June 2024 beta announcement, Uncapped Games described 1v1, 2v2, and custom matches, each with a maximum length of ten minutes. It also announced a roster of 45 unique units at that point. Those were beta-era plans, not a confirmed final roster or a description of a commercially released game. June 2024 beta announcement

The short match cap and deck-building pitch suggested a different emphasis from RTS games built around longer matches and extensive in-game economic development. Uncapped Games presented accessibility and strategic decision-making as compatible aims; the available announcements do not establish how the design would have balanced those aims in a finished release.
Did Battle Aces have a beta?
Yes. The game had closed beta activity. A beta that began April 16, 2025, highlighted four new units, interface refinements, customizable Unit Decks, and access to all units during the beta. The announcement again described matches as ten minutes maximum. These details refer to beta access, not a public launch or a final commercial version. Official Battle Aces announcements

Is Battle Aces still in development?
No. On May 23, 2025, the Battle Aces team announced that development had ended. Its stated reason was: “Unfortunately, the returns from early testing were not strong enough to support continued development.” The announcement did not identify an individual speaker or provide further detail about those returns. That announcement means Battle Aces should be understood as a cancelled PC game concept that received closed beta tests, not as an upcoming full release.
